Suggested Arab/Bedouin figures?

I'm prepping for a forthcoming Pulp game. I've got my chinese tongs, South American indians, ninja and masked cultists galore.

But does any manufacturer do a good Arab/Beduoin 28mm range? I'm looking for a mix of swords and rifles...

Any suggestions?

Hi,

as Arabs I suggest the Arabs from Foundrys Darkest Africa Range. The Baluchis Swordsmen and Matchlockmen are also great.

As Bedouins I can recall Old Glory but they are not really good. I have the Spearmen on foot. Dont buy those. but the OG Bedouins on camels or on horses are not that bad.

You could try Redoubt Enterprises. They do a Foreign Legion range with Riffs and Tuaregs in 28mm or Brigade games do some generic bedouin/arabfigures in their pulp line.

the redoubt Minis are not that bad.
I also have them. They are better than OG.

Malamute, Driscoles - how big are the Redoubt figures in relation to Pulp Heroes or Copplestone figures? I have dim and distant memories that Redoubt figures were huge in comparision to 25/28mm....

They are a bit larger, but not huge. I dont have problems to mix them. But I know that lots of people out there fear mixing miniatures with no proper sizes.

I think the Redoubt Arabs will be fine especially with Copplestone as they are large anyway.

Brigade Games have some classic arab bedouins in their WWI range, but no mounted figs...

WOULD SOME NICE SCULPTOR OUT THERE PLEASE, PLEASE HEED THE CALL OF THE DESERT?  ::

Brigade Games does have mounted figures in their Sons of the Desert line, as well as in Daughters of the Desert.

I know, and I consider going for the Sons/Daughters of the Desert instead of the 'classic' bedouin look with the headdress flowing in the air as they charge.... (sigh)

ahhh, I guess I don't really know what a "classic" bedouin looks like.  There are big gaps in my knowledge that pop out now and then.  :-)

Have you seen 'Lawrence of Arabia' (with Peter O'Toole and Omar Sharif).. or any tv-transmission of an OPEC summit? Then you'll know what I am rambling on about

The classic Arabian Bedouin wear the kafieh headdress, which you will recognize from oil sheikhs, but without the sunglasses or limousines. The robe is long and a bit shapeless, with wide sleeves. A sash and bandoliers are appropriate for day wear.

Wargamers have a bad habit of confusing this look with the Tuareg/ Berber styles of North Africa, which resembles it mainly in having robes and a lot of fabric around the head, althouh worn quite differently.
