Amazon still has the warthogs available, albeit for £20 + £4 p&p - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000WNGZBS. You may still be able to get them from other sources

I have three of them (bought when they were £14 each), and they're perfectly fine for 28mm figures

While I can't stand HALO, I'm happy for those of you who are excited about it...we're all allowed some happiness now and then.  lol

I think that this is great news.

HALO has been out there for so long that it has a good following... so what better time to get a wargame?

I bought a few of the Warthogs but ended up getting rid of them because I couldn't be bothered with converting drivers for them. I probably won't get involved with the game/miniatures but I'd quite like a Pelican dropship in 28mm :)

I got excited when I read the title. Now I know it for a fleet wars type the fluctuations in my trousers have subsided ( I was texting friends to tell them the news and the phone and it's in my pocket on vibrate. What did you think I was talking about?.)

They do look quite nice especially the USCN but all I want is a 28mil Pelican. It's a shame the clix range didn't produce one cause I only bought the hogs and nothing else. To me clixs = toys. I just hope Spartan learn from clix mistake

Oh and I want a Scorpion and a Covenant dropship and a Saber and a.........
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass....and I'm all out of bubblegum. No wait I've just found another pack in my back pocket. Mmm tropical fruit bubblicious.

I know it's mickle big, but I'm beginning to understand the excitement over the Avengers Quinjet. Serious conversion fodder, and darn cheap in the resale market.

Me too, I always wanted a pelican but then I realized they'd be about 22" long in 28mm :( Scorpions should have been made though.

I'm super excited about the news, absolutely LOVE Halo

Surprised that there is little love for the background/lore/novels of the Halo Games.

That is what has kept me coming back to Halo for so many years.  The games were fun, (and at times repetitive), but it was the story that I felt pulled it all together.

The first novel or two was simply mindless fun, and what you may expect as a video game tie in, but they've become very decently developed and I feel it's one of my favorite Sci Fi Universes.

To each their own, and hopefully Spartan produces minis that we'll ALL love....

@Supervike:  Well, SOME of the halo novels were okay.
When Karen Traviss took over writing them, I put them aside.

I liked fall of reach and the early things detailing the set up for the Spartans and John 117 ('chief) but the later stuff was ... reminiscent of the Dune "butlerian Jihad" stories - and not in a good way (I don't mean the stories were influenced by them - more the writing style was as tiresome).

A space battle game might be fun - although ground combat isn't usually much.  Covenant show up and glass the planet.  Rinse and repeat.   :D

Did I miss something. The original video game is nothing but ground combat. I've seen Commander Viper's HALO game lay-outs. There's plenty of ground game fun to be had.

Exactly bud.

Yes final solution is a glassing but before that it's full on ground pounding action. Just to mention there are space combat elements in the game and i would like to switch from planeyary bombardment to ground offensive.

Beasts of war have also done a bit of coverage on this and they appear to be under the impression a ground combat game will be made. Take that as you will. Tough I do agree that it would be strange to only get a licence for halo space combat and not ground warfare.

Well, SG already promised ground combat games in their blog announcement of the licence so BOW is hardly onto something new with that...

I found the wording there a bit hazy. But I think I might be reading to much into it. might have spent to much time in the GW topic here.  lol
