After a major break from painting my Russians ( Norse Gods and Vikings got in the way....) I've finally painted some more mounted Druzhina. Hope you like them.

I take it that they're shield transfers? I ask as I used to paint for GB and they are one's that I haven't seen before......

I do have one very minor criticism concerning the basing if you don't mind? I'll wait to see what you have to say before proceeding- it is a minor constructive criticism

Yes, they are LBM transfers from the GB site. A little fiddly but really nice.
I never mind comments and would be interested to hear what you have got to say about the bases.......

Well, what I was going to say (and it is all a matter of personal taste) is that plaster looks more realistic if done in the correct manner than the fake snow. There's a great article about it in Kevin Dallimore's second book if you have it?

I don't know if you conside rit worth trying on some bases without any painted mini's on?

It's quite difficult to see with the camera I'm using, but the snow I use has a nice "sparkly" ice effect, which looks quite striking in the flesh. I will look out for the article that you mentioned as I'm always open to new techniques.

I never appreciated how much metal colour goes into these. Looks brilliant. What was the cloth made from in reality?

It's quite difficult to see with the camera I'm using, but the snow I use has a nice "sparkly" ice effect, which looks quite striking in the flesh.
