Olavinlinna castle intro film in YT
« on: 21 February 2015, 02:45:35 PM »
So first of all this is rather shameless plug as yours truly has been co-ordinating this project for the past 14 months but I'm just a messenger now, sort of :)

Below is a YT link to a teaser trailer that promotes the up-coming exhibition and activities workshop (I weote the script for the movie and exhibition and also appear in the film :) ) that will be opening in May at the castle. Besides the short film (showing few passing moments of life at the castle during three dirrerent eras) that this teaser is cut from the exhibition offers glimpses to castle's history. There are also 3d printed objects for people not only to see but also to touch as this exhibition aims to be as much accessible for disabled/handicapped persons.

Activities workshop side has different set of armour for trying on, doll house version of castle tower (even I get to make few objects for that so this all somehow hobby related) etc.

So check out the YT link below:

And do visit the castle if you happen to be in eastern Finland:

Cheers.

That's great production value.

And medieval, TYW and Napoleonic era eye candy - who wouldn't at least love some of this?

Cheers lads, much appreciated.

Too bad, in a way, that one can see the whole film only at the castle, would love to hear opions about the whole thing.

Sorry for the threadnomancy but they decided to show the whole film (10 mins) on the castle's Youtube channel as well besides showing it in the castle.
So do give it a look and give feedback, much appreciated.

Maybe some of you get an inspiration for a Finnish/Finland themed hobby project :)

Very nicely done!  I would love to visit that castle.  One of my colleagues was in Finland last summer - I will have to ask her if she visited the site (she is a Medieval historian, so it might well have been on her itinerary).

Very nice - you were very convincing as the washer woman. ;)

And Jeremy Irons was great too.
