Spectre Miniatures technical Kickstarter
« on: 01 March 2015, 10:40:39 AM »
We are pleased to announce that we are running a 'mini' Kickstarter to fund the development and production of a new vehicle!

Following on from the popularity of our highly regarded PMC technical, we would like you to help us bring this 1/50 scale militia technical to the market with a comprehensive range of weapons to mount on it and a number of accessories to make each one unique.

Whether you are a veteran warlord, mercenary boss, SOF commander, post apocalypse survivor or seasoned zombie hunter, this will be a great addition to your force!

Check it out here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1660604196/spectre-miniatures-militia-technical

Sorry, i am very disappointed about your Last kickstarter. Too much promised but only half delivered. Still wait. I think you have to prove more steadiness... :(

Hi Dirk,
I am sorry you feel that way. Not sure what you mean by half delivered though. The missing 3 sets out of 20 sets pledged for will be posted on Monday. After this week the sets that needed to follow will be delivered to all backers.
We would have loved to be able to fulfill the KS on time, but the circumstances behind it were completely out of our control.
This project is much smaller and is using a different manufacturing method and will not be delayed!

We are a very new company, but we are striving to deliver the best product possible :)

Let's talk after your next kickstarter and see what happened then. In the moment I do not believe in KS. Still wait on the Prodos Alien vs. Predator and the rest of yours. So, I think it is better to re-think this kind of buying things.
In the moment I think KS means waiting, hoping that you get the stuff and delay. This is not, what I want. Other may think in a different way.

I completely understand that they are not for everyone, but without our KS Spectre would never have been able to set up as a company effectively. It is extremely unlikely that we will run another one for a range of figures, as the purpose of our first one was to get the range off of the ground.
This one is far more modest, but is the most practical way of launching this product that could require a lot of components that would need considerable investment for an uncertain demand.
We never intend to use KS as a 'store front', a huge amount of resources from our first campaign went into the development of our online store.
We are very proud of what we have achieved, but we are very aware that it has not been the smoothest of processes. Our backers and customers have been a real pleasure to deal with however.
Kickstarters are very hard work to run but they can be a fantastic tool that enable small businesses to do things that they wouldn't have been able to before.

In the moment I'm 100% with you. KS are good for companies, but I can't see an advantage for the backer. The day the last parcel left all the things are in the shop, same price. So what is the advantage for the backer? The rules are avaible for all for free, the next stuff as new KS. Advantage? None...
But it is my opion.

Thats not entirely true, at the level you pledged at you paid £8 a set - they retail for £9.99. At that level you were also entitled to 7 exclusive miniatures that were only available to backers plus the 4 objective markers. Plus a lot of the sets on the KS are not for sale. I think thats a pretty good deal!
I dont want to use this thread to debate the pros and cons of crowd funding, so I will continue with promoting the militia technical.

Funding reached in 6 hours and first stretch goal unlocked!
You can now choose to have a recoiless rifle on your technical and add them as a static mount!

More goals unlocked!
SPG-9 available as a weapon option for the technical and as a stand alone static mount, plus the second stowage set is now available.

Pledge for yours here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1660604196/spectre-miniatures-militia-technical

I wish you the best for your new KS project.
However, since we still haven´t received a single mini, building, or whatever from the first one (which ended like nine month before) I will not participate in this one.

Hi,
Could you message me on KS so I know who I am talking to? I'm very surprised to read this comment as I have been in communication with the backers on the campaign and based on the info I can access from your user profile on here I cannot find any communication from you previous to this.

Hi Steve,

I will be participating in the new kickstarter for 2 reasons - the sculpts are superb and when my original order went missing somewhere between Royal Mail and Canada Post you sent me a new batch without hesitation.

Keep up the good work.

Will there be any sort of option available for just the weapons? The base vehicles are easy to pick up, but suitable guns to turn toy pickups into technicals yourself can be a pain to get a hold of at times (which I suppose is why you're including those as stretch goals). Heh, though I think I inquired about loose weapons in your last Kickstarter, so its perhaps not something that you find viable.

You can pledge for a few of the guns as static weapons and two crew at the £10 pledge. At the moment the only unlocked static weapon emplacements are the DShK and the SPG-9.

The ZPU-1 was unlocked yesterday, this can be added to your technical for +£2! (£25 for a technical with this option)
