Fantastic!  8)

I'm really looking forward for this game! I'm planing to start a little 'DA' theme for some time now. I already build the first small additions for my current Desert Gaming table (adding Colonization Buildings, Palm oasis and Desert huts...).
And I'm toying with the idea of getting some of those lovely Northstar Africa Animals for a long time now...Ohhh my. Why have I stumbled into this thread? I see big expenses coming (hard times for hobby budget  :Dlol

Has anyone heard any more definite news about a release date for Congo?  June is nearly upon us and it would be good to know how long I will have to wait to buy a copy.

Also, Wargames Foundry were rumoured to be planning on selling starter sets. I have quite a lot of their Darkest Africa range already from last time round (ten years ago?) and have recently added some more, but Foundry's packaging is so damn inflexible (seven witch doctors anyone?) I am hoping there will be some useful sets with a bit of everything.  Any news on that front?

Yes, FOUNDRY will release figures sets adapted to CONGO.

No idea.  :(

I picked up a couple of packs from Foundry at Partizan and they were unsure when the rules were coming out exactly. That bit is down to Studio Tomahawk.

But, the gent I spoke to said that Foundry were going to package their range so that they would be in usable units for the rules.

When though, is the million dollar question..

Ray.

The other million dollar question is will they redo the moulds?

My original figure purchases were crisp and clear - I know that for certain as I still had some unpainted ones from years ago when I restarted the project last month.  However, the reinforcements I bought at Partizan are more of a mixed bag, with a lot more flash and visible casting lines. I can live with that if I have to, but on some figures detail is obscured where a face merges into a musket or a hand becomes joined to the body by a blob of extra metal. I even had one figure where removing excess metal brought with it a piece of black rubber material, leaving a hole in the figure's back.

These are irritations rather than major problems, but if Congo is going to give the Darkest Africa range a new lease of life, it would be good to see these issues addressed now.

I think the foundry moulds had been redone.

"I think the foundry moulds had been redone."

Really?  That would be great, and maybe I was just unlucky in buying old stock.  Any idea how long ago that was?

Would love to hear some tangible news about this game! The marketing department must be planning an ambush or something.

Is Congo about to be released this week?  I could be wrong, so it would be good if someone who knows could confirm please!

I have the entire range of Foundry Darkest Africa (about 80% painted) and am pretty interested in these rules...
