Paul, your grasp of prehistoric is not all it should be...  ;)

'Shaa-ga-noth' roughly translates as 'Tears limb from limb'  >:D

Fantastic looking terrain and minis - very inspiring... Especially love the cave network and cave paintings. Might be the push I needed as I have always wanted to do some sort of "caveman" game. Would ideally like to try doing so in a historical as opposed pulp/fantasy way. Certainly look forward to seeing rules - sounds most promising.

This is absolutely superb, one of the best scenery tables I've ever seen (and that's saying something, remembering some other marvels on LAF)! I expect you lucky people going to BLAM will get some lovely surprises from this game. Well done, Captain!

Thank you  :)

And now, hotfoot from round 8 of the LPL, here are some more specimens to populate the paleolithic...

The second pack of Simians from Steve Saleh's Lucid Eye 'Savage Core' range...

And here's the whole ape tribe so far...

Couple of close-ups...

First of the wild beasties...
Cave bear by DeeZee Miniatures, sabretooth cat by Reaper, grey wolf by Primeval Designs...

And some hominids...

Shaman from the Copplestone cave people range, two half-apelike types from Reaper, and the child is from the North Star Tarzan set by Steve Saleh, with a new mop of hair and fur kilt out of Green Stuff by yours truly...

Nice. This thread made me dig out the Cavemen I bought some time back. Can't wait for some rules.

Who stocks DeeZee in the UK? On TMP, they show as available thru Wargames Illustrated.
Cheers,

Thanks, that is great as they are on my list to visit while I am in the UK next month. I'm glad Emirates have a large luggage allowance. ;)

Cave Wars table + game for BLAM. The company of wolves - Update 8 June
« Reply #342 on: 07 June 2015, 11:02:38 PM »
lol Dirk - you don't give up, do you?
Poor Nick... ;)

Okay then, a few more miniatures for the game - this time, a company of wolves.

Not strictly prehistoric, but you can't go wrong with a few wolves.
I suppose they could also double as friendly 'early domesticated canines' to my cave people.
Hmmm... I will have to think what to use them as in this game...  ::)   >:D   ;)

These are a mix of Primaeval Designs 'grey wolves' and DeeZee Miniatures 'dire wolves'.
They're both by the same sculptor (Richard Deasey - 'DeeZee, geddit?!).
The main problem is that while there are 5 different models in the Primaeval Designs pack, there are 6 identical models in the DeeZee pack. Which is a bit shit IMHO.
And they are not so hairy.
So I have been busy with the Green Stuff to 'hairy up' a few adapted variants...
In fact, they've all been titivated a little bit here and there...

These wolves will also come in useful for my small but perfectly formed VSF Transylvanians...  ;)

Since the terrain build part of the project is complete (and I'd like to keep the topic intact), I'm also shifting this whole thread over to the Age of Myths, Gods and Empires board, which is probably the better place to report on progress with the miniatures, the rules, and the game itself :)

This is such a cool thread.
Really great work.

Sure is tempting to go prehistory now.
To many projects... :(

Sigh ::)

I won't be trusting you EVER again Dirk ;)

Great stuff, looks like its going to be a very bloody affair with all those beasties. :o
