I've decided that it would be tidier all 'round if I put my Sudan project pics etc all on one thread.

So, here we go, to start with two bases of Beja:

i really enjoyed putting this vignette of Burnaby together. I love the understated Perry sculpt and I reckon that he doesn't look too bad among the corpses of his enemies. Brave as they were.

The vignette will be making an appearance on the tabletop whenever there's a Burnaby rule which, inspired by Blood on the Nile, there certainly will be in my re-fight of Second Battle of El Teb.

Colonel Frederick Gustavus Burnaby Belligerent:

These Mounted Infantry, again converted for the Second Battle of El Teb, were a real pleasure to convert and to paint. Thankfully the conversion work was minimal as the troopers just needed some persuasion with a file and a little Procreate to fit the horses nicely.

The painting guide in the Appendix of Go Strong into the Desert, Mike Snook's excellent book proved invaluable in this case.

The pics are a little poor owing to the fact that I was in a rush and I don't have my normal lighting rig for taking photo's. Still, they give a flavour of what the unit looks like. I'll be taking more pics today so will update with some close-ups too.

As usual, more can be seen and read on my Shooting Leave Blog here:

Lovely vignette, the few elements do tell a great story there.

And mounted infantry looks good as well.

Thanks mate.... lots more to come (big lots in fact!)- just have to wait until my thumb stops hurting like mad!

(I slices a chunk off the end whilst cleaning up some mini's- doctor checked the end of my thumb in clinical waste!)

That however sounds like personal modification, and you should refrain from doing that - its a different hobby entirely.

I sympathize though as did similar many years ago to one finger, but with a blunt knife. It does hurt a bit. The piece of removed tissue was also discarded as being "to mall to re-attach". Still have neat  scare 20 odd years later.

Best advice, don't do that again
