For a skirmish game purpose (with song of Drums and Shako rules), i had to create some Convertion to create French Gendarmes.
It's seem there is no range about the Gendarmerie (except Brigade Games, i think)

The base is Spanish Artillerymen with a paint job and weapons add....

The base are the excellent sculpted Front Rank Miniatures (1 fisrt rank):

I'm not a big fan of painting rigourously the uniform so the spanish will fit the job even if they don't wear the same uniform as the Gendarmes.

and the work nearly finished looks like :

the right hand guy is a Spanish infantryman, looking too as a foot gendarme.

Cheers
Eric

Eric, some really nice conversions. :-* :-*
Try some Trent Miniatures sold by Northstar.
I think they have some french in similar if not the same uniform.

Nice conversion job. The Brigade Games figures are very nice though, being Paul Hicks sculpts.

the main problem with brigade game is there is no retailler in Uk except Northstar for a very short part of their ranges.

so i stay on Front Rank and their excellent sculpting. The face are amazing and very characterfull.

cheers
Eric

You can get the figures direct from Brigade Games without fear of having to pay import duties on them.

I've been a regular BG customer for several years now and I've never had any problem with parcels from the USA : Lon Weiss is a very reliable trader with a good grasp of international shipping. I simply keep my orders under the 100 dollar mark to stay under the radar and I've never been hit by French customs once.

As Arthur says Lon is a great person and he tries to do the best deal for the costumer.
Postage is not the highest in BG. What stops me from ordering is the taxes i pay here in Portugal.

Frenchy Eric

I placed an order yesterday to take advantage of the current spring sale and postage came at $20 for a $100 order. That's 20% of the goods' value, which is about standard in the industry and very reasonable for a package coming from halfway across the world.

Postage from the US used to be cheaper than that but USPS raised their prices about a year ago, a fact which Lon can do nothing about.
