My 10mm American Civil War Project
« on: April 09, 2015, 11:26:38 AM »
Like many other wargamers I'm nearly buried up to my neck in unpainted lead and never seem to be able to complete a project as I am constantly flipping from one project to another.

So I decided to hire a professional painter, to complete my ACW armies.  The service I settled on was Turbil Miniatures which is run by a husband and wife team and they gave me an estimated turnaround time of 3 months.  They also said they would give me regular progress updates.

So my first job is to clean up the miniature's and then post them to Turbil Miniatures so they can begin painting. As soon as I receive a progress report I will update this post.

Okay as promised, I received an e-mail from Turbil Miniatures last night to inform me that they had started on my figures.  I must admit I'm a little bit excited about this and can't wait to see the results.

Always, so many figures, so many ranges, and not enough time.

I know the feeling.  :?

You can say that again. There's just so much out there and, not enough time, or not enough money

Hi All
I received an e-mail from Turbil Miniatures today to inform me that my Union figures should be with me by the end of the week.  To be honest I feel like a small boy again waiting for Santa to come to say I'm excited is an understatement.

Hi everyone
Sorry to the long delay in replying.  But other more important things have been happening.  I am now married, honeymoon etc.  Anyway back to figures, I received my figures on 31 May 2015 I must say I'm very pleased with them.

I think Turbil give a great service, honest and reliable. Basic tabletop painting at an excellent price. They did a lot of 6mm Franco Prussian War figures for me and I am working out armies of H&R ECW to send them currently.

Even if you take their work as a basecoat and add your own highlights and bases they are great value.

I totally agree that Turbil give great value and most importantly honest and reliable as you say.  I tend to use their painting service as a base coat and then add my own highlights etc etc.
