I'm struggling hard to not jump in... the minis are wonderful, the rules look great (and I'll pick them up for certain) but I have so many wizards already. I pulled out all my Metal Magic magic users the other day and managed to get wizard/apprentice pairs for each school in Frostgrave. Granted, none are as perfect matches as the official minis but it'll be a nice meta-collection and I think some of the pairs turned out pretty good.

And finally, here are some of the left-overs not paired up. Mostly apprentinces left in this lot. =)

Isn't that largely up to you and your opponents? :)

I absolutely adore the Metal Magic stuff (I am trying to collect 'on of each', slowly, along with my Fantasy Warriors collection). Great matching! Hope you share some pictures of them painted :)

Yeah, if anything would have made me more attracted to Frostgrave, it would have been for Josef Ochmann to have joined this project's (already impressive) sculptor line-up.

(This is assuming Ochmann is still sculpting. The last figures I'm aware he did were the Black Hat Samurai, which are certainly much newer than the Metal Magic stuff but still 8 years old by now.)
"When to keep awake against the camel's swaying or the junk's rocking, you start summoning up your memories one by one, your wolf will have become another wolf, your sister a different sister, your battle other battles, on your return from Euphemia, the city where memory is traded." - Italo Calvino

I would think most people would qualify pikes as 'a two-handed weapon', but as long as your opponent knows what they are, I don't see any major issue.

Which just shows how much personal preference affects everything, personally I don't like the Black Hat samurai at all.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Duly noted.

Anyway, I just brought up Ochmann as a throwaway comment and didn't mean to make a thing of it. I'm aware of course that North Star has its own clique of sculptors - and I don't mean "clique" in any negative sense at all, especially when it has the likes of Mark Copplestone and Mike Owen in it.

I thought I'd read on Facebook (or somewhere) that the Flesh Golem was going to be a freebie for level 3, 4 and 5 Wizards? Was I dreaming?

No, still cached on Google:

"I couldn't imagine a Necromancer with a Construct spell would want to mess about with hammer and nails, and bits of sacking, like the Enchanters would. So we've made the nastier Wizards a flesh Golem for their Construct spell. He'll come free to every Level three and above Wizard if we hit the next Spend Goal."

Seems there's a new spend goal!

I've asked about the Flesh Construct situation - will update as soon as possible!

I would suppose that most miniature games can be bent to accommodate more than 2 players, but it would be interesting to know if the author has already included suggestions in the rulebook.

The game can handle three players, the only real difference is changing the amount of treasure on the board. The treasure grab nature of the game means it works better with three players than straight up fight games, but it does still have the potential situation where two warbands take each other out leaving the guy who didn't get involved as the defacto winner.

That's a pretty common problem with any 3 player game  ;)

Might as well just have 4 players then.  lol
