Cheers to you all, I have to say I'm quite surprised by the rather warm response to this one. I felt a little disappointed by the painting standard but it seems the extra crazyness and character make up for this !

That one photo sums up everything I love about old school 40K.
Need a vehicle? Go make one out of trash and models parts. Jazz it up with some non-specific colorful markings and away you go.
Need some terrain? Grab a piece of felt, some lichen and some aquarium plants.
Will one tank and five guys be enough? Sure, why not.

And your comment sums up excatly why I like this setting so much. It's all about using what we have at hand to expand the worlds we explore in our games, makes oneself work on modelling skills and imagination, what's better than that ?

As i said in the Emporium JB your possessed grav tank just sums up all that was right about Rogue Trader and for that matter the spirit and ethos of a little Nottinghamshire lead spinning company in all their sci-fi licenses and adventures.

Lovely.

Cheers guys, those are very kind words really  ;)

I can now add a space pirate/hobbo to the group :

Brannon Solo has lead a life of mercenary for years now, he barely remembers the girl he left behind and the 2 kids he granted her (or was it 3 ?). Anyway, getting his hands on a fully operational suit of powered armour in a bar fight (who started that one ?), Brannon started getting more jobs than he usually had. His bluntness combined with his very loose sense of self protection (encouraged by his suit) has made him honour nearly as much contracts as he has failed... (some bad mouths will tell you he gets his contracts because it's public knowledge half the time he forgets to ask his due because he's too drunk after the mission... but this is not the kind of place where such mean accusations get relayed sorry).

You can read a bit more about him in the associated blogpost.

Well, throw in some Lemmy and Andy chambers with the one you mention and indeed that's the idea ;)

Back to my youth love : confrontation. Here's the start of a new Helmawr gang for me.

I've always loved the illustration of that poncy douche by John Blanche and felt like recreating a character in the same vein :

I've tried to kitbash something close to the spirit of the illustration without trying to follow it exactly :

Many more model will follow (7 are on their way right now) with some proper old lead and more kitbashing of the sort above. Funny thing is I usually try and finish all models of a given warband at once but the guys in that one have such individuality that I have to add the final details seperately on each of them rather than resorting to my usual taylorism...

Wooooow! That's amazing! And only the first of many more to come! Weee!
Your efficiency in the kitbashing art is quite remarkable!
