That's no one then.

It's selling okay, but we get zero feedback from anyone about the game, and no one locally has taken it up. I was curious.

I bought the rulebook and have given it a good read.

I'd play it - only no one around these parts wants anything to do with it.

Do you think it's because the game was started as Martians vs. Colonials?

I've read War of the Worlds, and it's obvious that the Martian Menace was halted by stalwart British bugs. Damned revisionist game companies! >:(

Part of it may be the KS backers (who should be a pretty interested crowd) still don't have everything they paid for, and for many, as they wait their interest lowers.   And for the folks wanting to play a British/UK force, just now are the items they need to field a decent force being released via retail.

But how do you paint a cold germ in 15mm?
Back from the dead, almost.

I bought the rule book which I thought was excellent and I really liked most of the mechanisms and concepts and art and designs.   I found it inspirational!
But, I don't use the rules as I already have my own simpler set and have been playing wotw in 6mm for decades (I'm a wotw fan!).
I would guess it is a 'beer and pretzels' period to most people because it's so unusual and rarely seen as a game. I usually only get my own game out once in a while, as an interesting diversion, even though I have often tried to drum up interest in a campaign, not many stay for the long run in my experience.
Maybe it's the nature of the subject matter and its assymetric nature that will condemn most wotw armies to the 'shoebox' under the bed, for the odd rare appearance.
That would be my guess anyway.

I agree and would have been more likely if it had been british figures as in the HG Wells book

Like the Martians, but hate the human vehicles.
Too clumsy in design - coal fired WWI tanks just don't work for me.
Possibly a product of several visits to Bovington, but I don't like the look of them.

Hence, didn't rush to try the game (although I backed it at KS because I am a WotW fan - seen the Wayne stage version a couple or times)

We sell quite a lot of AQotMF, but we get little feedback and no one locally is playing. This was a curious post more than anything.

Reminding all: Nebraska is in the USA; just showing curiosity myself.

With a DAMN small brush! Oh, wait, I never paint anything. Okay, NO PROBLEM!  ;)

Yeah, we're talking about it on a VSF forum, and the game was supposedly timed beyond. I really got the feeling there was hope for more cross-over acceptance.

Not that fond of them myself, I'd been pestered by someone who saw me pick up the set with 'let me know when you play...' I put up the hummies in a local bring-and-buy, hoping someone would take the smaller step. No joy...

Yes, I found such a post from a vendor very curious indeed... Oh, you meant FROM curiosity!  lol

I'm not going to import it any more.

The stock is being sold off here: http://northstarfigures.com/list.php?man=171&page=1

The game has sold out, and there are only one or two Tripods left so I've not discounted them.

The period just didn't excite me. Its neither one thing or the other. Not the Wells version or WW1.For me the idea was a none runner.

I like the main Martian tripods but the humans just don't grab me at all. They put a lot of work into it so good luck to the company but it wouldn't be for me. Even as conversions to VSF.

Now a Wells/Ian Edginton/Dark Horse version would interest me  :-*

I'd join the queue for that.

Always slightly disappointed that the Wayne stage show didn't have Tripod kits on the souvenir stand. (The stage designs are pretty neat). Instead they have a huge selection of T-shirts - although most of the audience would be better suited to comfy cardigans.

If there is a Jeff Wayne marketing employee reading this please take note.
