Captain Biggleswade
« on: 29 December 2006, 08:05:59 PM »
Hi,

after a long time of painting wood elves for comission, I finally managed to finish a miniature for myself, wich I started to paint a couple of months ago . Its Captain Biggleswade from Artizan:

I also started to paint Major Cadd, but I'm not very satisfied with his uniform. The pants are okay but I think the highlits at the shirt are a bit to strong:

By the way - I wish I had the time to be more active in this wonderfull forum. Often I just manage to read at least a few topics but I haven't got the time to answer...

Anyway, very nice job!

Indeed, the contrast on highlights and shadows is very visible and works out very harshly. But Ol´ Biggles is nifty - even if I only read the comics, I really like the setting. Jolly good work, old pal.

I finished the Major but I repainted the trousers and the shirt. I think it looks better now. I also finished Dr. Toht today. Im not quite satisfied with the pictures though, i've got a new camera and am still experimenting with the right setting for aperture and exposure. Espeacially Toht with his black clothes was hard to fotograph:

Greatly improved! But are those "bunnyteeth" on the Major? ;) The evil German looks very cool, though, and the details on the black are nicely done. Great work.

If you're part of the nobility you couldn't youst marry under your rank and thin the bloodline. And if the only potential available bride is your cousine that's fine. Even if after a few generations your children look like bugs bunny...

Today i finished Odbodd. I think the pictures are getting better, even though they look much better on the monitor of my mac than on the pc:

The figure is based on an English actor named Terry Thomas his teeth are meant to look like that.

Oh my, Terry-Thomas! Forget what I said, a perfect likeness! :D Really. However, I never even heard about a Biggles TV show, (or would that be "Dad´s Army"?). TT must be my favourite "stupendous movie villain" ever, especially in "First Men on the Moon" and "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines"... shame on me I didn´t recognise him.
