Captain Future / Capitaine Flam
« on: 09 December 2016, 01:16:41 PM »
When I was little boy in the eighties, I was a big fan of the japanese anime "Captain Future". In French, we called him "Capitaine Flam".

Some weeks ago, I tried to find miniatures of them, but they don't exist, except some ugly and expensive vintage toys.
Finally, I found some proxies here and there. Do you have other ideas for more suitable miniatures ?

From left to right
- Grag and his familiar : Reaper miniature and a cat from Black Cat Bases (+green stuff)
- Captaine Future : body from Black Cat Base and head is from Hasslefree
- Otho : Hasselfree. I made the cap with green stuff
- Joan : Crooked Dice
The other heroes are in progress : Prof Simon (Tau drone), Otho's familiar (full green stuff), Marshall Ezra (HF) and Scott the Kid (HF).
I'm also painting a spaceship toy for the Comet
All these to be used with the rules and other miniatures of "ROGUE STARS" I'm waiting for :D

Great show. In Germany they re-release it in the moment. Last years the price for the DVD's raise to hundreds of euros. I have to watch it again.

I have no idea how I've never heard of this show, but nicely done models!

For those who don't know Captain Future is an American hero published in pulp magazines from 1940, and adapted in anime in 1979. Great show!!

Me and my brother used to watch it on German TV in the 1980s. We loved it too! Of course you still need to add a proper Prof. Simon Wright...  :D

Loved Captain Future in my childhood and still do  :-*

Your team is very nicely done, the only thing which I dislike a little bit is that Grag is too tiny in my eyes  ;)

I should make my own crew as well one day, just came around tomake a Pulp-one and a Fantasy-one though.

I loved it as a kid and watched it on French television at a young age which probably is one of the reasons I'm fluent in French now.

Thanks for your comments. :-)
You are right, Grag is normally taller than Captain.
May be the Big Robot from Rogue Stars fits better.

Nice models but I've never heard of Captain Future. Must have missed the UK completely.

Never heard of it, but one of my favorite things in the 'miniature world' is when people make proxies out of other models to fit their best loved settings.

Well done!!

Shiny!

I loved Captain Future as a kid. Remember that it was the only cool show they showed in German children TV (well nearly...there were some other good one, bit no space ships):

Your models are fantastic, though Greg was a bit bigger. I love this.
