Lookin very nice.
 :)

I'm a semi-recovered Tread Head, I quit playing 40k some time ago, gave away a half dozen chimeras, but I've still got a dozen or so tanks in a box.  ::)

The mixing of the modern kits with the more scifi stuff creates a really nice near future look, or in a 40k sense a slightly more efficient look compared to a lot of the imperial tech.

I must admit I'm still tempted to get a Shadowsword just to build and paint.

Just a word of advice - get a Shadowsword and not a Baneblade. The Baneblade model is just a pain to build, with lots of gaps to fill  :?

Guess what? I corrected the barrels:

And I'm slowly converting it into a WH40K vehicle:

I've got another Sgt. York ready to go and I've also bought the other vehicle that I'm planning on converting into a anti-air missile tank:

I'm going to install some missiles on that baby instead of those guns, hehe

To finish, here's a size comparison between a "normal" GW model and the 1/35 Sgt. York (without tracks):

(these pictures are old, the barrels aren't straight)

I was in a model shop recently that military wise pretty much only had tamiya stuff so mainly 1/35 scale I think.

Certainly no 1/45 or whatever 28mm turns into, but that shows how with some conversion work you can make a really dangerous looking 28mm superheavy tank out of the bigger scale kits.

Not to mention the even perhaps slightly expensive (compared to some historical kits) tamiya stuff is far cheaper than a baneblade...okay perhaps totally different levels of detail, different material, etc...but if you are just wanting it as a basic core for some heavy conversion work it is perfect.

Being mostly a skirmish guy I'd probably just do it for a building/painting project, but theres always scope to throw a big nasty tank in as a horrific "final boss" or objective for some kind of sabotage mission.
 :)

Anyway...those new barrels are lookin awesome Pred.

What do you guys think? I'll add the stowage rack to the turret to counterbalance the gun barrel   ;D

As much as I like Your other conversions and vehicles, the IFV is......
not making a very good contribution to Your building quality ratio....
Sorry, but You asked  8)

Hi, You crazy You!

It «feels» a bit «girly», somewhat underpowered, compared with your previous creations...

And here are some side pictures of the IFV.

Don't worry, it will get a 40K treatment - more armor on the sides and 2 Leman Russ Sponsons ;) Pretty nice for an IFV.

And I have 10 more to do, lol.

Just a quick update. I'm working on some combat drones for my army. I started with these toys:

And after some Vallejo Black Primer, some German Gray from Tamiya and a Devlan Mud wash:

Then...Future wash all over the models and then I've applied some decals:

Still lots of work to do :\

Here's my first attempt at weathering with oils ;)

Now I just need to let everything dry to see how it worked out.

just discovered the thread right now.
wonderful tank conversions, i'm not really convinced by the drone toys, they are really not 40k-esque, but still nice!

I don't plan on using them for 40k so that isn't a problem ;) I'm doing my own rules.

Those pods they come in make good 40K style drop pods.  I did one for space wolves.  And haven't finished the others that I bought.  I'll try to post a pic.
This is my boomstick!

Hehe, I had the same idea when I bought them some years ago, but it never went past the primer stage:

With a AT-43 figure

I had lots of those squid-type alien heads from the Wargames Factory sprues and some Robogear troopers laying around so I decided to do a little experiment. Here's the result:

Not the best of pictures, I admit, but I didn't cut those pegs on their feets and they kept on falling on their backs.

It's very easy to make them - just assemble the trooper as usual minus the head. Insert some round sprue (the supports on the WF sprues are a perfect fit) on the hole and cut to size (just look at the second and third figures on the pic). You've made yourself a neck for the squid head.

Now you just need to glue the new head with lots of plastic glue, so it bonds with the neck (a pin also helps). Now I just need to make a little beret for the leaders  lol

Congratulations, you've just made some menacing looking aliens. They are taller than the usual 28mm figures, their proportions are "alien" and they'll be a new alien race in my setting ;)

I think I'll call them...Hynemans  lol

And after almost 2 years, I've completed some minis. Of course they were already painted, but that's just a little detail.

They are Marro from the old Heroscape game. I've just added some washes (courtesy of Vallejo) and I'm working on their bases (just some sand, static grass and some more washes):

Just some aliens opposing forces for my Tomorrow's War games ;)

During the following weeks I'm planning on painting some more aliens - the Hynemans from my previous post.
