My army
« on: October 12, 2008, 05:50:35 PM »
After I mentioned my army on the thread about that new 1:48 tank, here are some pictures of it:

You can see some pictures of the other vehicles and troopers here:

And something still in WIP stage:

As you may notice, my army is based on GW models. I know there are other options in the market and I'll use them as my opposing forces, hehe. My "enemy force" will consist of Kolony Militia from Pig Iron, and Viridians from the Urban War range, backed with Old Crow Saber tanks (I still have to choose some APCs for them)

All of the models are being assembled and painted by an English friend of mine, who was kind enough to take this commission. As I don't have an ounce of talent in me, I've paying for his excellent work and it's one of the best decisions that I've made in several years of gaming lol.

Looks super, the Vindicator is very, very well done. I assume you do not use GW rules, just use what figures you like?

In any case, that grey camouflage scheme works excellently on those SM tanks.

As for the rules, right now I'm not using any, but I've bought the 5150 pdfs for future use. My main intent is creating my own (very basic) rules, so I can enjoy some games with my younger brother and some of my friends.

Of course that lack of rules gives me the advantage of buying all the figures that I want ;) Yesterday I've bought a Tau Devilfish for future use - it's going to be a Neo-Soviet dropship.

As for the camo, all the praise must go to the painter, lol. When I ordered my commision I only said that I wanted an urban camo and that he had free rein on that.

Commander Vyper - I think it was your thread that made me order those Warthogs and their conversions  ;)

Here are some new photos of it:

Very nice, oh and what was used to make that tarp? Glue-saturated tissue paper, cloth, or? Been wanting to put a tarp on some supplies for a vehicle before I paint it up.

I'll ask my friend for the recipe ;)

Lovely  models, your friend has done a great job painting the vehicles  :-*

I like that scout car, the "Warthog"? Not very well named, though, as it's not at all squat and ugly, but rather beautiful in fact  lol

Not knowing anything about it, where did you get it from? I'd like some for my Recon platoon.

5150 is a great set of rules and I think you will really enjoy playing SF games with it. It is actually very easy to learn [even to a senile old duffer like me] and can be played with only the very basic rules so you and your younger brother should get into it very quickly.

Have fun and be sure to post more pics!

Gluteus Maximus: Here are some threads with info about the Warthog - http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=7533.0 and http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=6732.0

They may be hard to find (at least here in Europe) because they seem to have been gobbled up by WH40k fans who turned them into scout cars for their Space Marines and Imperial Guard forces, lol.

As for the 5150 rules, they seem great and I can't find a review that dissed them. I'm a member of their Yahoo group and they are very helpful. But I just skimmed the rules, lol. I can't seem to find the time to sit down and read them :\
