As I promissed, here's the "recipe" for making the tarp:

Quote
Tarp is made from thin lead sheet - it's flexible enough to mould around the items it's covering and holds folds (you could even have it flapping in the wind).

Of course I had never heard of such a thing...and he clarified it for me:

Quote
...you usually have to buy it from specialist hobby stores although it seems difficult to find these days - mine is a few years old...

I wonder if you can get the same effect with kitchen tinfoil?  ;D

No, it would be too thin and not hold its shape.

I suspect tinfoil is too thin. Instead, I would suggest you check out some of those soft metallic food packaging tubes that certain kinds of spreads etc. come in. Clean them out and cut them up into sheets. I've never tried it myself but I have seen it used to great effect by other modellers.

EDIT: Here's a picture of the kind of thing I'm talking about, just so I'm not misunderstood:

there are some wine bottles that have a thin tin wrapper around the cork! that tin sheet is very malleable and resistant!

and you a get a free wine bottle for a 2.00 € tin sheet!  :D

but you have to make sure the cork wrapper is made of tin and not plastic before you buy it!

* the tin doesn't get better as the price rises, but the free wine tends to improve  ;D

Ah yes, lead sheet. I've heard of this but have never found any. Ever. Thanks for the suggestiong about the foil wrappers on wine bottles. Don't drink wine myself, however it is popular with my family, and friends. So it shouldn't be a problem(and free ;)).

Just a quick update, with some of my "Neo-Soviets". My friend is painting them as an opposing force for my Cadians:

Some more Neo-Soviets. Here are the pictures ;)

First of all, Incursion APE suits, with AT-43 heads:

And the Neo-Soviets and their drone (a 15mm miniature from GZG):

wow, I really like that drone. I have looked at GZG stuff often, but never saw this one...

The AT-43 heads on the APE suits also look great. Damn you make me want to buy them :p
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?

Hi,
great work! The Ape Suits look fantastic with the AT-43 heads.

Could you please tell me from which AT-43 miniatures the heads are?

I looked through all the ranges myself but couldn't figure out which heads you used.

Thanks!

Thanks, nice find. I didn't know the AT-43 miniatures come with separate heads. So i just searched through the ordinary online-shops which usually do not show the cards.

I guess a box of these is ordered.  :D
