Great write up and a good looking game. What rules were you using?

Reminds me of this:

Man I really want to start GNW too.

Where is the best battle to start? I think there should be plenty of danish swedish action to choose from.

Love the battle report.
Great figures, excellent terrain, what's is there not to like?
Only that I am thousands of miles away. ;)
Would love to play a game of GNW, someday.

Good that you like our game and have a interest in GNW:)

You can now find even more pictures from our game at my matey Sörend blog.

@Dr. The Viking, I suppouse you can the Danish history better than me, but as far as I recollect there wasnn´t to many major battles between Denmark and Sweden during GNW, just the Battle of Helsingborg that pop up at the moment.

If you want to start small you can look in to the Battle of Fjälkinge 23/1-1710, a smaller engagement and prelude to the Battle of Helsingborg. The Danish force was under command of Christian Ditlev Reventlow, and was composed of 1 Dragooon regiment and 3 Cavalry regiments, the Swedes was composed of 3 infantry batallions and 3 cavalry regiments, don´t know the commander as I haven´t found that much info about the Battle, or maybe more a large Skirmish...but and Danish victory. You can fins some info about the Scanian War 1709-1710 in Swedish here: http://members.tripod.com/bengt_nilsson/Historia/skanska.htm

Best regards Michael

Nice blog and AAR with great pictures to accompany it.

I've loved the GNW since reading Poltava, just never quite got round to it, yet!

There was a 2nd large battle in 1712 between the Swedes and Danes in the GNW - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Gadebusch

Also there were Danes in the mixed army at Stresow 1715 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Stresow

There were other smaller battles in the 2 periods of war 1700 and 1709+.
