Well, this is the period for ugly armoured cars - perhaps the Bilbao? Or one of the multi-turreted brutes? Or might I suggest the Garford-Putilov - it's like a little pre-dreadnought on wheels, complete with casemated guns.  :-*

Now *that* is a seriously ugly, Wow-You're-Ugly, Armored car! XD

Just what the High Poo-Bah of Anvilania would want.....

"Ugly with a capital UG", as they say.

Any notions about troops? Spanish Foreign Legion have those silly bloused breeches and tasselled sidecaps, for example. Jackboots and unusual headgear could be a larf too - 'tartes', Fusiliers Marins hats with the little pompom, lemon squeezers etc. (I'm using Finns with Adriens for my own late Interwar army of no fixed abode.)

Spanish Foreign Legion is a good thought, maybe as Anvilania Guard. :D

Maybe the "regulars" will be more militia types, but with some silly hat as a unifying element. I should pick something either A) available on retail head packs, or B) easy to sculpt in epoxy putty.

Oh, I think I'm going to do that, now. XD

I need to find a really ugly armoured car.....

OK, but remember, YOU asked for it:

And if that ain't ugly enough, you could try for a Tortuga:

And while the Bilbao is plug ugly, if it's an ImagiNation project you're embarking on, then SCW Tiznaos are a perfect source for inspiration and truly off the wall AFVs:

Those are *awesome*!

Anvilania will certainly be adding mail skirts to whichever armored car I choose.

Oh, and I think I might put the Anvilania Command in Dragoon-style Minerva helmets. XD

Silly hats?   SCW has some sillyhats:

The Guarda Civil (Civil Guard) were and remain Spain's paramilitary police force, and they were indeed very active during the SCW:

That's the fun part of this. If you're handy cutting up sheet plastic, you can easily use a toy or model truck as the basis for converting to your apocryphal armored car(s). I used an Airfix Opel Blitz years ago to produce an improvised armored truck from my IJA in China project. it was actually not all that difficult a conversion, and with the basic Opel Blitz truck being in place adding the thin improvised armored sides and roof was painfully easy. Once I'd painted the silly thing up it actually looked the part, almost as good as some such improvised movie prop vehicles from all those 1950s-60s WW2 movies I grew up watching on television back when old movies being re-run was the order of the day on the local television stations... lol

Oh mama - that first one is astoundingly unaesthetic. Empress has several of the odd-ball home-brew SCW armoured cars/trucks - slap on a different turret (FT-17?) and you get something uniquely yours.

Woodbine/Gripping Beast sell separate WWI French & British head sprues - they match well with 'smaller' 28s like Warlord. (I'm doing Warlord & Woodbine myself.) Warlord and Empress also do extra heads.

Good Morning Guys. :)

That's great ideas and great news from each of you. I need to do some research, and I think this will be a *lot* of fun.
