What I can tell you (I hope!) is that you have options for 'reduced model units' so your 3 chariots would function exactly like a unit of 6 heavy cavalry and each would, in effect, take 2 'wounds' to kill them. Or you could field one chariot as your Achaean king (force leader) and make that function like a unit of cavalry all by itself (i.e. with 6 'wounds'), in which case your other two would form a unit with 3 'wounds' each. Dan uses that idea to allow the fielding of mighty heroes and monsters or units of beasties (e.g. trolls, Wargs, Ogres, etc) in the rules, although obviously for such beasties, he has numerous other options to make them more 'beastie-like'. You could even field an Achaean god or goddess using that same idea if you wanted to add further Homeric quality to your games...
I haven't played them yet, as they only arrived the other day as a 'thank you' for playtesting his Colonial rules, but I have read through them. I would heartily recommend adding them to your shopping list if you enjoy fantasy gaming but even if you don't enjoy that, they have MANY other great ideas that you could easily borrow for ancient/Dark Age gaming...
