OGAM - Romans vs. Britons
« on: 26 May 2015, 08:35:11 PM »
Hi everyone, I'm thinking of using the OGAM rules to recreate battles between the Romans and Ancient Britons (with some added assistance from the Gods!). Jupiter will be leading the Romans, while the Britons will be under the direction of Cernunnos.

So far I have Jupiter finished - rest to follow!

Nice start!  Have they released rules for Romans, or are you using the Greek rules and changing the names or what?

Thanks for the comments!

I'm mixing up the Greek list with some of my own creation - I'm sure there are lots of Roman lists out there, but I thought I'd come up with my own.

EDIT: Just realised Balearic slinger shouldn't be listed as armoured! Points costs are correct.

Fletcher; "Only what I always keep in my pyjamas"
Blanco; "He could have been after your lemon barley water; "

Nice job on the troop lists!  I like how easy it is to make up your own units with this game.

Like the blue cloak - nice and simple looking but really effective.

Thanks! Yeah, nothing too complicated - enjoying painting these due to the stripes and checks.

Thanks! Nobles are a mix of Warlord Celtic Chieftains and Linebreakers. Next up, Cernunnos and some mastiffs! I've also obtained the 'Boudicca Triumphant' Warlord chariot set in a bundle on eBay, so I'll be using her as a Celt hero.

I have only just seen this. Did you ever write up any reports of your games?

Good stuff!

What are you doing about Roman Legends?

A friend of mine is getting into OGAM and he has lots of suitable Roman Mortals. Gods can be same or similar to Greek with the alternate name but the Legends am not sure about some would translate but the Romans should ahve a few of their own, so wondering waht you did.

Cheers
