1755 Virginia Provincials FIW
« on: May 28, 2015, 07:41:49 AM »
At the end of April I posted test figure of a Virginia Militia man from the French and Indian war.  I finished up the models this week and wanted to share.   I got a lot of advice from The Galloping Major in my test figure post and made some changes.   Mainly I changed the white leggings and straps to various different colors.   All the white on the test figure made it look like he was from the AWI.

I'm pretty satisfied in how they came out.  I am considering going back and painting some white trim on the guy in red pant's facings.  He sort of looks like 18th century Santa Claus right now.

Click the Gallery for more pics.

I painted these models as part of Warboss Tae's May Painting Challenge over on youtube.  If you are interested in watching some super amateurish videos of me reporting my daily painting progress, here's a link to a play list with all the videos.

Thanks for the kind compliments.    Flags_of_war, that's terrible.  Blame the dice not the miniatures.

I know i know. I was angry. One unit got wiped out by a Indian Warband that was half it's size and the other one failed to move out of a burning building resulting in the them getting wiped out too. SOLD the next day haha.

I have some Galloping Major Mohawks and Rangers still to paint.     I'll have pics of them here once I get some paint on them.

Great stuff! I need to paint up some provincials one of these days. I'm reading a book called, "Breaking the Backcountry" by Matthew C. Ward. I never realized how poor quality some of the militia that fought in frontier Virginia and Pennsylvania were until I read this. Good stuff!

I missed these until now, but boy they look good. I especially like the faces.

I know i know. I was angry. One unit got wiped out by a Indian Warband that was half it's size and the other one failed to move out of a burning building resulting in the them getting wiped out too. SOLD the next day haha.

That's hilarious. Have any other units suffere the same fate?
