Junktown Scrapyard Crew - Udpate - Sergei's Scrap Hunters

Thanks again all for the kind comments...and advice. Delta dog, I've put some more staining under the vents on these ones!

This time it's a few more of the Junktown buildings, starting with the Rad Cafe (for which I need a chef by the way - any good recommendations for figures?)

[/URL[URL=http://s247.photobucket.com/user/clanmcneil/media/IMG_0974.jpg.html]

And a small pad the for the unattached Wasteland Bachelor (don't get much more unattached than Travis)

And lastly a desirable family residence in the upmarket part of town (which is just next to the downmarket part of town of course)

Comes complete with renewable power source and weapons workshop in the garage.

I know I have said it before but that rust is amazing. If I didn't know better I would swear that it really was rust.

The detail and narative you have built into you buildings looks fantastic too, like micro-movie sets. very believable.

My thoughts exactly.
That rust is top-notch!  8)
Your buildings are real gems !

I like the upmarket wing abode with motorbike  8)  8)

Finally got a few more inhabitants of Junktown done, instead of just more buildings.

Junktown is fed by a variety of Scrappers who scour the Wasteland for any remaining tech, weaponry or other bits worth prizing out of the fingers of the dead. Sergei Belov leads one of the more effective groups, a gang of Russian-descendant Scrap Hunters (in my Fallout-esque world the conflict was between USSR and the West because there is more cool Soviet stuff out there to play with (of which, more in a moment).

Sergei leading the search through downtown, on the way to a nearby military base

Some heavy support in the event things get a bit sticky

Keeping an eye out for Robot patrols

Adopting a low profile

Finding something worth scrapping

And then defending it

The whole crew

And the next WIP - one of Sergei's vehicles - see what I mean about cool USSR stuff?

What is that orange tracked vehicle?  I'm also curious to know about the vehicle under the tarp.

Excellent work as always!

Thanks Eilif,  the tracked vehicle is a 1/43 Gaz, link to a similar one on ebay below.

Many thanks.

Tarps are dead easy. Bandage soaked in watered down white PVC glue with some acrylic paint in, then positioned while wet. Normally need to paint on little more glue and colour once dry.

Ahh, bandage makes a lot more sense than what I was thinking (burlap) as it is thin enough for this scale.  :)

And at last, the other big scrapyard machine is finished (apart from a little soot around the exhausts which I noticed I still need to add.

The Tandy Super Crusher. Big junk into small junk for the discerning post apocalyptic trader...

For those that like the details, this is based on a Matchbox Mega Rig construction set, with a crane and loads of other goodies. Saving the vehicles that came with it for a post apocalyptic port which, on current schedule, I'll get to in about 12 years.

And a little bit of a sneak peek of the next project. I think it was Fallout Tactics that had a huge rusty locomotive in Quincy. Always stuck in my mind. Well I finally got one of my very own. I'm going to make it the heart of Junktown's power generation system, with a huge pile of greasy generator bits spilling out of its side. Wish me luck!

Pretty sure I have that matchbox set lying around somewhere myself!

Can't wait to see what you are going to do with the train, has a lot of potential I'd say.
