Cheers, guys. Glad you like 'em.
The "peasants" (actually truly professional soldiers ;) ) turned out to be more fun to paint than I originally expected. Some faces are a bit off, but overall the models are nicely posed and come in a good variation of sculpts.

Atheling, admittedly I had to look up "to give a wide berth". Still living and learning, thanks. lol I'm a big fan of the Fritz Lang movie, at least of its overwhelming visuals, the inspiration it took from Carl Otto Czeschka's illustrations and other imagery commonly (in Germany) associated with the Nibelungenlied. The opportunity to include a winged-helmeted Hagen was simply too tempting (even if my version is lacking in comparison).

Excellent figures, and the picture-taking setup is great as well! I'm going to use it as inspiration for my next session of picture taking!

Thanks

I just watched Die Nibelungenlied for the first time recently and was floored by the brilliance of it.
You have a sharp eye.
Far sharper than mine.

aggro84, just don't bother with later remakes; despite its age Fritz Lang's version is way ahead.
Neldoreth, that's a very nice compliment, thanks a lot. :)

Somehow I forgot to add to this thread my attempt to create a more 'scenic' shot. Visitors to my blog may have seen it already, but here it is for completeness:

Nice photo.  It looks just like they are fighting in a sand storm.

Mostly Black Tree Designs?

Read and you shall be given. :D

King Richard was sculpted by Michael Perry and sold at this year's Hamburg Tactica. […] All other models are by Black Tree Design.

Yeah, I recognise the Richard I mini. I thought that I was right in assuming that they were BTD. THey are the only range that I can think of that do the Third Crusade..... I've often been tempted  :)
