Rules suitable for an "Evil Dead" game?
« on: June 16, 2015, 01:14:25 AM »
There's a few "not-Ash" figures out there, and I sometimes come across zombie or monster figures sculpted in a style that reminds me a lot of "deadites". This has got me thinking about an Evil Dead game.

Are there any rulesets that would adapt well to the scenario of the films? Not counting Army of Darkness, 'cause that's a different animal from the rest, and fairly easy to adapt from a basic skirmish ruleset. I'm thinking of the original two movies and the recent remake-but-might-actually-be-a-sequal. Small skirmish-sized character set, claustrophobic "closed circle" setting, adversary mechanics for possession/turning of friendlies, asymmetric combat, etc.

I know there's plenty of zombie games, but deadites aren't really zombies. Undead, yes, but they don't function or behave at all like the sort of zombie those games are built for.

History viewed from the inside is always a dark, digestive mess, far different from the easily recognizable cow viewed from afar by historians.
