What a collection! Those are superb.
Thanks mate

Hi guys

These guys are ready for undercoating (can anyone think of any improvements before I do this?) the side crew are only blu taced on, I only gave the Space Marines beaky helmets, back packs and shoulder armour was not going to fit in the cockpit. The morning sun glare is hiding all the detail, I'll take more after the undercoat.

Hi guys

I gave the speeders a couple of coats of PVA to try and smooth out the surface, despite the rough finish it is an improvement, and will at least seal the surface to help the paint/washes from being soaked up by the spongy plastic. Will start the painting tomorrow.
this next model was printed by the same company, it is based on a Thunderhawk, but his to small to be a 15mm Thunderhawk, and is more suited to 6mm, I have tried to bulk it out with card stock armour plates, and will use it as a small drop ship, carrying maybe 2 squads.

Looking great so far! With the primer added, so much more detail is recognizable now.

Yeah, undercoat pulls a model/conversion together, it’s always good to see a before and after pic.

 Hi guys

13 years ago I started a 15mm 40k project, and have done a lot of work on Blood Angels, Tau, Sisters, Dkok, Inquisitors, and Chaos (Nurgle) but I haven’t touched the project in about 5 years, so I’m getting back into it with Tyranids and Genestealer cult, I’m using Khurasan miniatures xenon as the basis for the genestealer and Termagant conversions, a Khurasans xenon queen has been converted to a hive tyrant and plastic parts were used for the Tyranid warriors, I have used grey stuff to sculpt the armour plates, this is the beginning of a much larger force, also in the pics is a Crassus armoured troop transport, I am adding that and a Gorgon troop transport to my Death Korps of Krieg force, I’ll show those in a future post.

For sci fi, 15mm is my scale, it’s easier to store, quicker to paint, and costs a fraction of the price.

Always loved your fantastic modelling efforts with these armies, Mr Dunbar. A particular favourite of mine is your 15mm Leman Russ tanks with Krieg filing behind them, just absolutely awesome.

Lovely to see an update!

Hey Gunner,
Good to see your work again. LOve it ...

The speeders came out great as is the monumental conversion work on the nids , one little bugger at a time.

Though personally I prefer my nids as HtH ones without any technology (?) ....

Keep it up

I can definitely agree with that, the prices drop amazingly rapidly once you move to 40k in 15mm. Plus you can convert the plastic GW 'nids to much bigger 'nids that you might never have afforded. I have GW 'nid warriors that have become carnifexes, hive tyrants and trygons! It's quite good fun doing the conversions as well.

Makes sense

My main sci fi forces in in 6mm so very much get the benefits of smaller sizes. 15mm seems to be a much less common scale for Sci Fi compared to most other periods

It's awesome. Great Facebook group on this topic as well. 40k in 15mm is the name.
