eek Does Necromunda (Redoing Enforcers 01/21)
« on: 29 June 2015, 02:29:39 PM »
Hey folks! So Necromunda is always something I wanted to try, but for one reason or another never quite pulled the trigger. Now that I'm in with a group that's just starting up, I figured it's only proper to get my own gang rather than borrow everybody else's.

I chose the Delaques, they've always been my favourite by a mile purely by looks, and reading up on their style I think they're also a good fit there too. Rather than scour ebay for the originals, I instead decided to use Heresy's trenchcoat gangers with a few third party weapons from Victoria Miniatures, Anvil Industry, and bases by Secret Weapon.

Still waiting on the Anvil Industry stuff, but I had accumulated the rest by the weekend and got to chopping and sticking:

Gang Leader with Boltgun, Autopistol and Sword.

Ganger with Lasgun

Ganger with Lasgun

Ganger with Hunting Rifle

Heavy with Heavy Stubber

Heavy with Bolter

Juve with Autopistol

Juve with Autopistol

All that's missing are a couple of shotgunners, so once the bits arrive I can get them assembled and my starting gang will be complete!

Very nice.  The heavy looks great  :)
Now what is this whole life of mortals but a sort of comedy, in which the various actors, disguised by various costumes and masks, walk on and play each one his part, until the manager waves them off the stage?

Nice work! The gang leader and the one with the heavy stubber are probably my favorites.

Thanks guys!

The shotguns arrived yesterday and I tried them out, but they're a little too bulky for my tastes. I've also been having second thoughts about the bases and bolters so I think I'll be going back and changing them all.

It took a while, but the new bits arrived. I got some Champ Industries bases and MaxMini shotguns and swapped them in.

(mounted for priming)

I painted the melee guy first as a test, seeing as how Delaques are a more shooty gang, it wouldn't be a disaster if he went badly. Thankfully, I'm happy with the result:

Now just to get the rest done...

As I mentioned on my Fallout thread, I went on vacation for a couple of weeks, and took my Necromunda Delaques along as a vacation project. I got a little done, didn't quite have time to finish them. here's how they look for now:

Shotgunners

Lasgunners

Hunting Rifle, Heavies, Juves, Boss

Hoping to have them done by the end of this weekend!

The main reason I didn't finish painting them was that I got a little distracted and kind of started making an Enforcer gang... oops...

Sergeant and Cyber-mastiff

Shotguns

Bolters (the guy on the right is my favourite of the gang, love how he came out)

Shock Mauls and Riot Shields

Specialist with Grenade Launcher

Judge

Super simple conversions, using Tempestus Scions as the main body, Ad Mech Vanguard heads (my brother assembled a squad of Rangers so he gave me the spare heads), Space Marine Scout weapons and the mauls and shields are from maxmini. I ended up being one base short so I have one guy left to assemble, so once the bases arrive and I get him done I can get to painting those bad boys! 8)

Both gangs look great - well done!

I do wish Andy at Heresy would so one or two more Juve poses and then tackle a different gang, but then again I've been asking him for years to no avail...  :?

Anyway, looking forward to seeing your Delaques finished; I think they're looking sharp already, and with bases and details done they ought to really stand out on the table.

A brilliant kit bashing to get some great results.
The Heresy figures look even better now that you have made your alterations too.
The paintwork is coming along just fine too.

Agreed, the juves definitely need a bit more variety. Especially since we're spoiled for choice with the heavies and regular gangers.
