Grey Greens
« on: 21 October 2008, 10:27:48 PM »

Here are some links to WIP pictures of some of my upcoming bikes. The bikes with riders should be ready over the next week or so(the mould is curing this very night!). Not sure when the trike and other bike will be ready, maybe a month?

Interesting. The spear armed one reminds me of a scene in Akira, except it was a long piece of pipe that the biker actually had. 8)

Wow, beautiful. Are these 28mm scale? I might have to get some if they are.

Really Nice. I am not keen on the base for the second bike, the guy w/spear,  the figure and bike are cool but the base seems to rocky

THey are indee 28mm scale(well, maybe more like 30mm)

As for the bases, can I get some suggestions other than rock then? I didnt want to do road surfaces as this is a bit boring for gaming with!

Nice looking bikes. :)
I would like to see the bases plain. That way  I can model my own scenics once the figure is painted and the base can look exactly how I want it.

The bases need to butt up against the wheels so that I get good strong cast out the end. I did the first batch with sandy texture but doesnt look so great. I thought rocky would look better!

Obviously others want them plain. Personally, I'm fine with the kind of base you gave the first one. Stuff like that means I don't need to find some bike/cavalry bases. As far as I'm concerned either way is good, the second one's base doesn't look too good IMO however.

I'd go with plain.... limits uses otherwise... hardly likely to be tearing up the slab of Mega-City One if the slab is in that state....

in fact he's gonna come a cropper going over that kind of rubble.

Well, the moulds are made and the minis painted, just need to wait for some good lighting to get photos.

Actually, the bases look more textured in the photos than in real life. I flocked them a bit and they look pretty  natural. Anyway, the moulds are done so these ones will be going out "as is" Im afraid!

No Offense was meant by the Comment Ramshacle_curtis I just thought the rock looked to dangerous for that bike to run over, otherwise the figure is cool.  I also picked up a Boneyard truck and it looks great now if I can do it justice with a good paint job.

Haha, Im not easily offended by the internets! I put the models up for critisism, so thanks for voicing your opinion. I may address the road surface issue on later models, and its good to get some views on what people think, indeed as you have pointed out, what my customers think!

As for your truck, Id love to see the finished version! Please send me a pic or post one up here, and I will stick it up in the gallery.
