Battle of Heraclea - using NT AMW Rules
« on: 19 July 2015, 08:29:44 AM »
Last weekend saw an afternoons gaming between myself and a friend using our modified version of Neil Thomas's Ancient and Medieval Warfare rules.

The game was a refight of the Battle of Heraclea. Great fun to play with the phalanx and Romans matching each other turn after turn until the enevitable happened! Then it became a race to see who rolled up who first!

The next game should be as Ascalum, with John currently raiding the bits box to make up some anti elephant carts!!

Hi Emir,

I always find that it helps to have an accompanying array of pics with a blog entry to peek the interest of others.

As wargamers our eyes are as naturally drawn to nicely painted mini's on a gaming table as they are to the female form!!  lol

Just a suggestion :)

Darrell.

Indeed, but as I no longer use a image hosting site I can't upload images directly from my device unlike I can on the other forum I use. Unless I'm mistaken, in which case I'll gladly do so.

Seems to work fine for me. Just copy-paste the photo's URL (pics on the blog are hosted somewhere as well), use the image tags and you're done. ;)

Check your email Harry.

Now, I came across a pack of Iron Age pigs from Warbases. Looks like these porkers will be getting greased up and flambe'd at some point in an attempt to keep the Elephants at bay. I have some ideas as to how to achieve this, so will let you see the results here when complete.....

Vegetarians and the American Humane Association are probably best warned to stay away! lol
