It's a pity there's no way to preserve them. Those mushrooms pop up out of nowhere one day, and 3-4 days later they're gone. I spotted that one Thursday, while mowing the lawn, and spared it from the whirling blades. Then on Friday when I went out for the pics, it had that white fungus up the side - one fungus devouring another, I guess.

Trying to sculpt that intricate web of spongy material under the cap feels like a daunting task... Maybe that's what I should take away from this. Hmmm...

Thanks for sharing this. These minis are splendid and the paintjob great. I would sure love to have some of those in my collection. Inspirational!

In 3 years when we all have our 3D printers we will also have hand-held lasers that can scan any object for us to print.
