Alternative Medieval/Renaissance Campaigns
« on: July 23, 2015, 09:38:53 PM »
Does anyone do these? I'm trying to put a large scale one together and I'm interested in what others have done. Because it's very much an alternative history (with significant timeline disruptions from the 3rd Century BC onward) the terms medieval and renaissance are foggy signposts meant to be more suggestive than literal.

Not specifically a campaign but these two books published by Pen and Sword would certainly be my first port of call:

An Alternative History of Britain: The Hundred Years War
http://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/An-Alternative-History-of-Britain-The-Hundred-Years-War-Hardback/p/3809

An Alternative History of Britain: The War of the Roses:
http://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/An-Alternative-History-of-Britain-The-War-of-the-Roses-Hardback/p/3851

There's also this for Early Medieval:
An Alternative History of Britain: The Anglo-Saxon Age:
http://www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/An-Alternative-History-of-Britain-The-Anglo-Saxon-Age-Hardback/p/3741

There must be plenty of idea in among the above.

Hope that helps?

Darrell.

Thanks Atheling. I'm interested in any variants anyone here has come up with. One aspect of my campaign is that the Byzantines, though driven out of the Balkans and Anatolia, were able to establish themselves in strength in the Maghreb as Byzantine Carthage.

If I were you I'd include this information in your first post and let people know in more explicit terms what you're looking for :)
