Nice work. I never got into Battletech but like the minis a lot. There was always too many books and add ons and it drove me bonkers thinking of having to collect it all.  lol o_o lol

We could point you into a simple introduction.  While there are (no exaggeration) hundreds of damn source books, the game started pretty simple with a book or two.  Unfortunately some of those have to be picked up via ebay now.

Most folks refer to me as a grognard because of it, but I don't go beyond a certain year.  The absurd number of books and PDFs are in no way necessary.  There are plenty of devotees to each era, including the "original".

"Trojan Horses" (Luthien Scenario Pack): 1st Jaguar Guards Bravo Assault Star
My original plan was to always do one Lance of Inner Sphere Mechs and one Star of Clan Mechs, alternating between the two factions. Thanks to German Customs (it seems) my arrival of Inner Sphere reinforcements has been delayed. In order not to waste time, I instead build up my next Star of Smoke Jaguar Mechs. Those are a mix of old Ral Partha sculpts, newer Iron Wind Metals Omni Mech parts (SRM 6s on the Man O' War, Pulse Laser muzzles on the Nobori-Nin) and a plastic figure from 2nd edition Citytech. There was some minor conversion work on the Nobori-Nin, to bring it to "B" configuration standards (see his arms in foreground).

from left to right:
Gargoyle (Man O' War)
Summoner (Thor)
Huntsman (Nobori-Nin)
Hellbringer (Loki)
Nova (Black Hawk)

by the time of posting those are already primed and ready for painting.

Ta-daaa! An (minor) update: customs was friendly enough to finally let me have my miniatures. Heavy lance assembled and ready for painting.

Thunderbolt, Archer, Crusader and Warhammer, all metal unseen  minis from Ral Partha.

That took longer than expected.  :o

Another addition for Alpha Strike.

"Unseen" Warhammer 'Mech, an old Ral Partha pewter miniature. Something different for a change  8)

Oh this thread is so full of win, it's untrue :o .

I love the camouflaged mecha on this page (particularly)... and all the rest of the mecha too... lovely stuff :)

This kind of stuff is also why I'm even more angry about Palladium (read: Kevin Siembeda) being a toolbag and not finishing the Robotech Kickstarter project...so many excellent kits which could have been used for Battletech.
