Can someone tell me wich paint is this?
« on: 02 September 2015, 11:02:52 PM »
Hello everyone!

I'm going to start a modern 15mm army and I wanted to recreate this camo:

I have in my city Citadel, Model Color and Tamiya ranges so it would be nice to know on these brands if not just tell me other brands.

Thanks in advance!

Reaper have a tool here that might help you.

Beyond that, can you not just hold up some suitable colours you have from your paint collection to the picture and see what looks reasonably close?  ???

I already did that but the ones close enough pop out too much (military colors usually don't pop out so much as regular paint) and I asked because I know theres people that makes military models on this web, that's why I asked. Quite useful the reaper tool!

Thanks for the reply :D

Yeah, that's true enough!

The only other thing I can think of is to look for real-world countries that use that scheme (looks like a pic from a computer game?) and then find out what colour(s) military modellers normally use for achieving it. A two-step process perhaps, but hopefully it'll get you a sensible answer. :)

Vallejo Model Color: Buff (maybe Pale Sand) & Green Grey (maybe Khaki Grey). It is difficult to choose paints unless you can see them in person. But even then they look slightly different wet vs dry. If I am trying to match something I usually pick a few extra paints close in shade so if one doesn't work hopefully another will.

The problem is that for once, Hideo Kojima didnt go full realism on the equipment that should be real (and even worse, the camo is from a made up PMC). Yeah, searching for a similar real camo and looking what people does use should make it though, thanks :D

Thank you so much, will look onto these colors then. Yeah, I know what you mean, even in person lots of times it's hard as nails to get a good match up. Thats a good advice too but I dont usually do that because I have a very sketchy budget for models, that's one of the reasons why I asked instead of going commando for something similar.

But thanks ! :D
