Shieldwolf Miniatures - Great War Mammooth revealed
« on: 16 September 2015, 12:22:23 AM »
I'll just drop this here, this was funded in our KS-1, the lucky ones got this for 60$ (the simple version), 75$ with the howdah.
Hopefully our upcoming KS-2 will fund the hard plastic shieldmaidens so we can give this beauty a crew! 8)

Comments are welcome.   :)

I've been a sucker for War Mammoths!  I used to even have the ForgeWorld one.

This one is gorgeous!  Any better pics?

Need size comparisons and side shots before I can form a real opinion, but I like what I can see...

Thank you all!  :D

On the website we have more complete ones, and we will be posting a 360 by the end of the year like we do with almost all our models (same painter has been commissioned for the twin-headed Dragon and Battle Wyvern)
In the meanwhile we are waiting for an independent review to hit the web...

Need size comparisons and side shots before I can form a real opinion, but I like what I can see...

Thanks, don't have much atm, just those posted in our FB page and KS updates...
Hope they work..  8)

The first is an Ogre, we base them on 40mm square bases and are around 45mm tall

The second is from our KS-1 project (when it was still WiP), it is with one of ours 28mm heroic scale mini (around 32mm) the Sorceress of the Circle.

IMPRESSIVE! The painted version is particularly striking...AND gives a better idea of the level of detail. GREAT WORK!

That's a very nice beastie, and the paint job is grand - especially the blues and the flesh.  8) 8) 8) 8)
Can he be assembled without the howdah, and without the chains holding it, without needing too much scraping away of chains or sculpting?

Thank you all, we too like it very much and are very proud of the final result.  :) :) :)

@majorsmith
I'll have to agree.

The beast follows the colors of the Northern Alliance (light blue and white) and so will the other beasts we have in line for our northern barbaric race.

There is an alternative for the beast without the howdah (much cheaper too), but it includes the chains I'm afraid because it has still been armored from the northeners with the shoulder armor/shields and chains to strap/hold it.
I'm afraid if you try to sculpt/file the chains you'll probably ruin the cast...

Nice to see that beauty painted up, though pictures from a few more angles would be great.  One of your best figures for sure!  ;)

Thanks - no problem about the chains with the armour etc.; what I meant was chains obviously holding up the howdah when the howdah is not there  :D So that should work fine for me.

Thanks Timbor, appreciate it. You are right, we will try to prioritize the 360 for the Mammo(o)th but I think earlier than late November will be hard to accomplish. Most probably December...  :)
