Tyrion's take on Frostgrave

Tangled Frosrgrave
My daughter’s second Frostgrave warband will be themed after the Disney film Tangled

To start with we have notFlynn made up as a treasure hunter from Frostgrave parts with a Wargames Factory Saxon head, and his two friends made up as a thief and a thug from Frostgrave parts with Games Workshop Empire militia heads and a Gripping Beast medieval Russian club. You can't make it out very well but the thief has a knife made from a cutdown sword in his right hand, and has a scar and eye patch moulded on.



I’m on the lookout for an old witch and a younger woman with extra long hair to use as her apprentice. I’m awaiting an order of Perry Napoleonic Austrians to start work on the guards using the horse hair plumed helmets.

I made these bookcases after watching DMGs YouTube videos. I'm sure I'll be making a lot more such scatter scenery to decorate my games in the near future.

They were quite simple builds from wood tapers, lolly pop sticks, cereal packaging and magazine paper. They were finished just in time to present to my daughter for her birthday with her wizard and apprentice which I've had stashed away for a while. She was particularly pleased with the potions shelf.

Now I really must get on with painting so I can post some colourful updates.

Here’s a look at some of the WIP scenery that we’ve been using. First of all just some Games Workshop ruins, the old 40k gothic ones, the original LOTR ones on bases and the newer Osgiliath ones. I want to add some more, both the plastic renedra ruins and some resin ones I’ve had my eye on, but for now these are doing okay.





Next we have the start of scenery for the library scenario. I need to get making and/or buying more book cases, and I need to find out my old Hero Quest ones. I think the lecturn from the Nickstarter will make a nice scenery piece.



Next we have the start of my scenery for the living museum scenario. I’ve finally found a use for some old mainly GW knights I’ve had lying unused, mounted on some homemade pedestals using some of my kids plastic blocks.



Lastly we have a torture chamber/ armoury setup. Again I think the weapons rack and armour rack from the Nickstarter will look great as scenery pieces, alongside the other Hero Quest pieces, and the hanging cages from Black Tree.

Looks really great! I was looking in the overview photo for all the different scenarios, as I guessed you might have done that. It looks fantastic anyways, now just get some paint on it! And btw really cool your daughter loves it so much

I need to get the bases finished on the LOTR ones, which will be covered in gravelly sand to look like rubble, just leaving the sections of textured plasticard showing through. Then I need to get the lot painted. I think I'll leave the rest unbased to allow more freedom when setting up for the different scenarios, and to aid storage.

The books, and the shelves, came out really well.

The table has lots of little interesting bits going for it. I really like the concept of the mobile rubble piles.
