Thank you all for your comments, I really enjoyed doing these.
I was tempted to post the on TMP but would probably be burnt for heresy...

You're mad, ... sort of - like the rest of us (incl. me), I suppose! 
Is there a special scenario, setting or story you try to support with your creation? Or did you lose some kind of bet?
Please tell the story behind these figures!

Sort of a brain-storm really. I've always like the "idea" of doing Napoleonics but the draw of fantasy and sci-fi has always been too strong for me to resist. I liked the Dragoons because of their uniforms ( those helmets are excellent) and the idea they fought on horse and foot. When I saw some pictures of the GW Cold Ones I just thought "I wonder what they would look like with historical cavalry mounted on them?" ( Weirdly enough my second choice was ECW Dragoons).
As I said to my wife, I have no actual "use" for them but I thought that they would look pretty cool on my shelf. Having painted them, however, I've got a real urge to do some more "Weird Waterloo" type stuff and have been trawling the net for ideas.
At the moment I have looking for period sorcerer types and have been quite taken with the idea of British Hussars mounted on lions!!!!!

Sounds like fun. Have you familiar with (or have you indeed seen on BBC) the great story about Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Helen Clarke? There some great inspiration for Napoleonic battle magic in it.

I only ever managed to watch a couple of episodes so I have just ordered the DVD boxed set. I've seen some clips and have got to say the Waterloo scene looks amazing.

When I left Napoleonics for Fantasy, I didn't so much look on it as a change of periods, but more like an escape from uniform research & massed drudgery. It took awhile to reconcile the two coexisting...that's my excuse fore a late reply. The brilliant colors of the Napoleonic period do work SPLENDIDLY in a Fantasy setting. Your creations are as BEAUTIFULLY modeled & painted as always. IMAGINATIVELY WELL DONE!

I've just seen three episodes of the BBC series 'Jonathan Strange and Mr Norell'. Good book, ruddy good drama. The casting is excellent the in-story magic is decisive but subtle. Very inspirational. I love the scene from the Penisula where Strange, reluctantly but persuade by Wellington, resurrects fallen Napoletan soldiers inside an old windmill to interrogate them about the whereabouts of some artillery captured by the French.
