Very nice Scots - you've captured the "Covenanter" look well.

Very nice looking terrain and sharp painting. Looks like a great project.

I keep hearing good things about Donnybrook. Really must give it a try.

BTW, Does anyone know how to set up a gallery on here? - I've taken quite a few pictures and would love to show them to people, but I'm unsure how to go about it. Would I have to send them to another online gallery first, then link them back to here? Any advice gratefully accepted.

Instructions are here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=5617.0

To run a gallery here on LAF you need to be a supporting member. Professor Witchheimer, the forum owner, has not been taking 'supporting member' donations for a while now, but if you send him a private message (PM) he may be willing and able to sort something out for you. (Supporting member donations can be any amount, great or small - it's the thought that counts :))

I read the rules, very near to Triumph&Tragedy and Saga. Card activation, fixed numbers for troops (4 Elite, 8 normal and 12 poor, I think). Very simple, but complex in the actions and moves.

Excellent project and nice brushwork!  :-*

I like the small mini count necessary to play.

I think it resembles Sharp Practice quite a bit too. Maybe its a mash of all the best bits.  lol

Hi all - It's been a few days, but just a heads up on the latest post on the blog, this time about the animals and livestock that are featuring in this project. It's not a long post, but suggests ideas and thinking behind my choices for what creatures I've chosen to include...  :)

http://haveacare.blogspot.co.uk/2015_11_01_archive.html#2780621208472569458

Hello to Sparrow and Hu Rhu, Furt and Jimbibbly - thanks for all the compliments re the painting, and glad you like them! I have to say that much of the ideas for colour schemes and so forth, for my Covenanters were taken directly from this fantastic blog, Project Auldearn 1645 http://auldearn1645.blogspot.co.uk/2008/01/painting-covenanters.html. It gives a great range of colours to start from, and I've added my own twists and ideas. I'll add more when I begin my posts about the Covenanter faction. For anyone thinking about painting up ECW era Scots, especially for the campaigns of Montrose, then I heartily recommend this project, and it's great to see that it's still going after all this time. Definitely inspirational. 8)

Captain Blood - Richard, many thanks for the welcome, and kind words. I'll have a think about the gallery, and see if just posting pics on the forums works - I think it's a case of so far, so good. I'll contact Professor Witcheimer re: a supporting member donation, so thanks for the info.  :)

A quick taster of what's on the blog:

I promised there'd be chickens.....  :D

Next up will be the buildings, and then the Scots.

See you soon, and best wishes

Andy

Hi all - as promised, some buildings! ;)

Malamute - thanks for the nice words - I'll do my best to keep going! Inspiration from other people on here is certainly a good motivator, so thank you!

Folnjir and Captain Blood - yeah......the chickens..... o_o

They are a bit bonkers, aren't they?! Glad you like them. They seemed to take ages, but worth it I think. Not sure if I'll do any more in such a style, but I like 'em. I think any more will be a much simpler 'type'; I'm just waiting to do a scenario when they decide to attack someone - it'll bring a whole new meaning to 'Charge of the Scots Greys'!... :D

Have a gander, if you like....

A few thoughts and pics about the buildings that are featuring in my Donnybrook ECW project, with ideas about painting etc. Next up will be the last posts about shelter on my table top - tents - and other bits of fluff, then onto the Scots, and their hero, Tam!

Until next time, best wishes,
Andy

Hi all

Apologies for the absence - real life and a general painting and modelling 'funk' had taken hold, but I'm back again, and with an update on the blog.  ;)

This time it's a short post about tents, general camp 'stowage' and a teaser of the Leader for my forthcoming Scots Faction. Not sure what I'll do when these posts catch up with 'real' time, but until that time, enjoy! :D

I'll be back again soon, with a fuller account of Tam Mcleod's Hodden Hordes, but until then, some pics follow to wet the appetite. Enjoy the run-up to the festive season, and keep painting!

Regards as always,

Andy
