#097 The Very Reverend Lieutenant-Colonel Harold ‘Stinker’ Pinker, commander of the S.V.S. (Special Vampire Service), motto ‘Who Stakes, Wins’.

Now resident in Totleigh-in-the-Wold,
‘Stinker’ attended Magdalen College, Oxford where he boxed and played Rugby football and later played Rugby for England, a very muscular Christian (according to
‘Stiffy’ Pinker, née Byng). Whilst in hospital in Alexandria recovering from wounds received on an undercover mission to Axis-occupied Transylvania in 1943,
'Stinker' conceived the concept of the S.V.S. An elite unit specially trained to combat Vampires and the Undead in
Mitteleurope. Using the unique knowledge and training of Professor Edwin Van Helsing (son of the late Abraham Van Helsing) the unit have scored some notable successes on Axis Vampires in the region. Ignored and reviled by the Allied High Command, this elite force exists on a shoe-string budget and every trooper has to hand-carve his own stakes and grow his own garlic.
