Alternate Crowmaster Figures
« on: November 20, 2015, 09:26:36 AM »
Hello everybody.

I really like the idea of the Crowmaster but not too keen on the official figure.

Any suggestions for Alternatives?

Cheers

Unfortunately it's important that they're separate for game play making alternatives more difficult

I suposse you can use Falconer miniatures and combine them with some Reaper or Ral Partha familiars. While I wait for the official one, I am painting the following two:

combined with

and

with an owl

Sorry for the blurry pictures. The first one is from Midlam miniatures, and the second falconeer is from Ral Partha, a nice detailed mini. Hope it helps.

I'd argue that makes it more simple! Any figure with a hand weapon could be used for the Crowmaster, along with any bird model (that part is, I'll grant a touch trickier).

Reaper Bones is great for this. This pack (77176: Familiars) is $1.99/£1.75 or so, and also includes a ferret (Prince of Vermin):

I'm planning to use the 'iron hawk' from Citadel's old familiars range:

But I don't think GW still sell that one.

Darksword miniatures has this guy

with these as a separate purchase if you didn't want the frog guy too.

The combat shrews could go with any model you like really.  I have dreams of doing a warband out of these anthropomorphic animals so this would be my go to for a crowmaster.  Instead of flying... well the shrew would.. dig...(or scamper)
