Mine is 12'x5' but I've certainly seen bigger.

So many projects..... so little time.......

I have played a number of games on 5 large trestle tables - was really wonderful as it allowed for great flanking manoeuvres especially for ones cavalry. It was also great for having games with 4 players each one with their own sizeable command. But now that I live in UK such expanses have had to be drastically curtailed to the extent that 25/28mm games have to now be small level skirmish type affairs and I play with myself. Yes solo gamer...  :'(

Why the curious question? Hope your planning something BIG!

40 years ago we played WW2 on a 7 x 4 meters table.
It depicted a whole island in 20 mm and had two opening in the middle (lake and mountain) in order to reach and move the units otherwise out of teach from the sides.

I once took part in a 6 a side 15mm American civil war game in a school hall, where one of the club worked. It was an immense table.

I took part in Megagame 2008 (run by the guys that would go on to start Little Wars Melbourne), a large Flames of War game.

Details included:
- 6 players + 1 GHQ player per side
- ~7000-8000 points a side (we each controlled a 650 point infantry force of our own miniatures plus pooled divisional support choices that were divided out as needed by teh GHQ player)
- on a 32 foot wide table
- a total playing area of about 296 square feet

Edit to include pic below. Nevyen and werekake can attest to the game's size - it's where I first met them and thrashed their sorry hides.

Added pic, but I concede that that game is far from the largest; there's many that have had more miniatures and table size.

All I can say is, that if as a wargamer you've got the chance to play a large game - definitely try to take part. The scale is simply something different (there's a real fog of war).

The Jackson Gamers played two games on a large split table. The center was 5'x16' and each side had a "back field" table of 2.5'x16'. Total playing area 10'x16'. Here's a link to the first part of one game's battle report. http://colcampbellbarracks.blogspot.com/2009/09/affair-at-alt-kirchendorf-part-1.html. It has pictures, but I didn't see any that really captured the size of the table.

The biggest we put together at school was 32 feet long, 4 feet wide most of the length, but 8 feet wide at one end, for an Arnhem mini campaign in 15mm.

I took an 8'x4' table to Warfare a few years ago to run Freebooters' Fate demo games.  It was in 4 2'x4' sections.  I have now added another 3 sections to make it 14'x4'.  It forms a whole island.
