Cheers guys. I'm really glad you like my minis  :)
I'm having a great time with this project and it's truly a pleasure to share the progress with you.

Cool stuff! Wouldn't a certain disgraced ex-maester work as the priest?

Yes, it would work perfectly  :D
But I can't find a bg reason for Qyburne to be in the retinue of the Mountain, only the flavour... so I'm not sure...

Do you have the Perry light cavalry set? There is a head on there that would be PERFECT for a Clegane soldier.... A real ugly face in an open sallet, a really nasty piece of work.

Yes, I have it and I find it perfect for a Clegane soldier too... Unfortunately, the warriors unit is complete now. I'll have a chance to use that head in a Hearthguard soon :D

I must have missed the thread, we'll done, you sunovab**ch!

welcome dude  :D
(still waiting for you to prepare a North army...coward!  >:D)

***

I was really inspired in these days and so I'm happy to share another update with you.
I finally finished the second rank of the Clegane warriors:

Some detail-pics:

So, I'm happy to announce that the second unit is finally complete :D

With that finished I have 2 SAGA points and roughly 20% of the project is complete.

Next to be done, a Lannister HG. Here a early WIP pic:

That's all, for this update.

As always, let me know what you think!
Cheers!

Fantastic painting! The yellow especially. Great depth. What colour are you using for the shade?

Superb!

Are any of them supposed to represent any of The Mountain's Men as in the book?

thank you for the compliments guys  :)

Fantastic painting! The yellow especially. Great depth. What colour are you using for the shade?

I'm really happy with the yellow result  :D It is indeed one of my favorite color to paint even if sometimes it's not easy to handle.
The recipe I used on the Cleganes is:
- base: vallejo flat yellow. I often paint it in two round with generously thinned color. To me it's very important to have a smooth base for further wash process to be more effective.
- 1st shade: gw older wash gryphonne sepia. God if I love this wash... Sad it's OOP  :'(
- 2nd shade: new gw wash cassandora yellow. The only new wash by gw I'm actually using. It creates a warm orange shade very nice to enrich yellow or even gold.
- partial rebase: various glazes of the first yellow highlighting the bigger flat areas and not covering the washes result.
- 1st highlight 1:1 mix of yellow and pure white
- 2nd highlight 1:2 same mix. The top is to use pure white here and there too.
At the very end, to unify the result I wash the entire area with a 1:1 mix of gryphonne sepia and gw lahmian medium.

Superb!

Are any of them supposed to represent any of The Mountain's Men as in the book?

Actually I tried to achieve the general mood of the gang without trying to represent specific charachters. When I started to kitbash some Perry's plastic I first created the men with sword, knife and bare head in the first Clegane rank. Well...in my first idea he represented Bronn  ;D I was so happy with the bits that I did another one just for fun. And then another one...and I started seeing the Clegane spirit in them  :D

Many many thanks for the very nice compliments guys!  :-*
It's a real pleasure to share my progress on this project with you.

...and the project is still alive! I finished my first cavalry unit.
Here the first Clegane mounted hearthguard!

I tried to give them a "badass looters" aspect. I'm satisfied :)

A Cleganes groupshot:

Now I can field 3 SAGA points:

What's next? I still need another HG, another W unit, a L unit... What to do? Waiting for inspiration...
On the hero side...I'm still thinking how to build the Mountain Who Rides and the priest. Any suggestion welcome!  :)
And as always C&C welcome too!

Cheers!
