Trying out my Afghanistan terrain
« on: December 16, 2015, 10:21:22 PM »
Got all my Afghanistan terrain out on the weekend. Made for a nicely dense 5x6 table!

afghanistan table 4 by Hotlead2009, on Flickr

afghnistan table 2 by Hotlead2009, on Flickr

afghanistan table3 by Hotlead2009, on Flickr

Also got the "new army" curse exorcised and had my ass handed to me! One LAV brewed up, another a mobility kill and several casualties to Medevac. Never got more than 18 inches on table! (so most of the terrain just sat there looking pretty!  lol)

Maneuvering on the right to save the day:

Getting hammered in the middle:

More pictures, scenario details and full game AAR over at: http://www.rabbitsinmybasement.blogspot.ca/2015/12/op-thundering-dice.html

Cheers
James

That looks great, I like the amount of terrain, looks like a walk in the park for the attackers soon to become something much less pleasant.  8)

I esp. like the ditches, I keep meaning to make some for my Jihadistan project. Did you buy them or make them?

I've also got an unfinished wadi I should dig out...

Made them.
The darker building was made by Chris the Modelmaker. The trees are Woodland Scenics. Everything else is made by me.
I used Woodland Scenics Water effects resin for the irrigation ditches.

I don't suppose you did a step-by-step on your blog did you?

Yes I did!
Go back a few months for posts titled irrigation ditches or with the Afghanistan and terrain labels. :)

Found it: http://www.rabbitsinmybasement.blogspot.ca/2015/06/some-terrain.html

Thanks, I've been meaning to do this for a while... although it's now just closer to the top of the list.  ::)

Cool, love the grape drying buildings. Very much like the terrain round Kandahar.

Thanks! That is the area I'm trying to reproduce.
