Hi all

This game was to introduce a club member to colonials using the TSATF rules, so I tried to take it easy on him :)

The scenario was for the German forces to probe forward and release the white explorers held captive in the village, while the Arabs/Natives were trying to stop them. The background was that the explorers had been captured by the local natives and were on the menu tonight. The Arab forces in the area were unhappy with the Germans so they decided to help prevent the Germans saving their explorers.

The German forces consisted on 1 unit of Marines, 1 Unit of Askaris and 1 Machine gun. The Arab/Native had 4 units of spear, 1 unit of native rifles, 1 Arab rifle unit and 1 ancient Arab gun.

The figures are a mix of Foundry, Copplestone, Pulp figures and Old Glory (the captive explorers). The tents were from Hovels, the village from Grand Manner, the stone heads from Eureka and the dino bones and ruin I have posted on this forum.

I'll split the report into 2 halves as there are a few pictures.

The table setup. In bottom of the table is the german camp and the top is the Native village. Unfortunately I left my cloth at home so I had to use one from the club and its a bit too dark.

Some of the local wildlife looking for dinner. The lions are Foundry and I believe the cats are GW.

Native village. The buildings and campfire are Grand Manner and the fences are made from twigs from the garden wired together. The stone heads from Eureka and they appear in a few of my games.

A close up of the captured explorers. Its too late for one of them as they are already in the cooking pot! They are part of a Warchiefs and explorers pack from Old Glory and some of the figures are nice and other have some interesting anatomy.

German Marines by Copplestone Pulp and Redoubt. They mix pretty well together except the Redoubt who are a bit dwarfish but are still okay.

The camp with a few Askaris and Marines. The Germans are ready to go but the Askaris look like they are still getting out of bed!

Position after the first turn. My opponent split his units into 10 man units and also detached some scouts ahead of his units.

The first Arabs appear. This gun was deployed quite far forward as I figured I may as well start shooting early in the game, before the gun gets overrun. The crew were from a Foundry Askari mountain gun pack and the gun was from a pirate ship. I've seen references where the Arabs in East Africa used antiquated guns similar to this.

The scouts discover some natives. A couple of Askari scouts found trouble in the form of a unit of native riflemen. The riflemen opened up and killed both scouts.

More trouble for the scouts. The scouts from the other Askari unit ran into a unit of Spearmen hiding in the forest.

The game after a few turns. You can see the Askari scout in the top of the picture about to be attacked by the native riflemen and the arab gun near the top right of the picture

Part two in a few days if anyones interested...

Cheers
Kieran

I've just had the same problem. None of them will load for me. I even tried clicking on them while they were loading, to try to view them in a new window, but no luck.  ???
