British 1799 Campaign in Holland
« on: 27 December 2015, 04:06:33 PM »
Hi I am painting a British army for the expedition against the Gallo-Batavian forces in the low countries 1799.

My first batch of figures are from Trent miniatures 28mm metal, nice figures , well cast.

They are in Bicorns for the most part, some in round hats with crest and others in Tirleton.

Does anyone know of any other manufacturer that does this period?

cheers
Keith

I have never seen pictures of British troops inshako in the 1799 Dutch campaign, so probably are the Brigade game figures in stovepipe not suitable.

I had heard that Eureka were planning to do some as part of their Wars of the French Revolution range, but I'm not sure if that is still in the works or not. A quick email to Nic should get you an answer though.

Perry are a little bit later, 1799 most infantry were still in bicorn's and some light infantry in round hats but with combe similar to tirleton helmet but no turban.

Have painted nearly 100 line infantry from Trent miniatures so far, plus 12 heavy dragoons and 6 light dragoons from Front rank.[ heavy have bicorn and light have tirleton].

Eureka also make British for the early Revolutionary War in bicornes and lapelled coats etc. Nice figures, I bought half a dozen or so on a whim but they are really quite big, bigger than the revolutionary French they are meant to complement.
