Masai - 28mm Wargames Foundry

This is only my 2nd post on LAF (the other was in The Old West section). I have been working on a bunch of Wargames Foundry Masai for some time, and these are the last of them.
I hope you enjoy them ,all shield designs are freehand, I tried to vary the designs to make them more individual.

I'm still planning to do some colonial Africa when I awake from my current painting hiatus, so it pleases me a lot to see nicely painted natives!

They will be steady in the face of the enemy, a  friend of mine is going to do the basing -25mm Litko round bases

No, nothing closer than these shots sorry.
Paints I used were Vallejo, Reaper, and some Secret Weapon washes.
I used the pictures on the Wargames Foundry website for my inspiration.
The Reaper Dark Flesh Triad really helped with the skin tones.

Excellent work. I confess of all the Masai paint jobs I found online yours was the one I mimicked due to the 'soft tones and bright colors' as the man said...very nice....and authentic looking IMO.


By the way, what matt varnish do you use to finish the figures off...?

The only varnish I use is a spray of Testors Dullcoat.
For decals and flags I give a coat of Liquitex gloss varnish before the Dullcoat to give added protection & prevent shrinkage.
