Looking for suitable figures for 25mm Pruzz and other N European pagans

Does what it says on the tin - can anyone recommend a suitable source of 25s? I had some excellent Josef Ochmann 15mm Prussians a few years ago and was looking for something with the same character in 25mm. I'm particularly after shaggy bearded tribal cavalry like his Prussian and Lithuanian light cavalry to also proxy as Wildlings/Free Folk for my GOT and Dunlendings for my LoTR armies.

They are kind of Hunnic looking in general garb, but less C Asian in appearance.
The closest I've come across is Black Tree Design's Kurds - but they are only infantry and restricted to only 4 poses. I've beefed them up with an assortment of nasty axes etc. and have another unit on order now I'm more adventurous with my converting/sculpting.

I use a mix of GB Jomsvikings, and Foundry Vikings, purposely guys with fur caps, fur cloaks, etc...

How about the 'Early Saxon Cavalry' from Footsore Miniatures?



There doesn't seem to be a lot of figures like the examples you gave, at where I looked.
Maybe it's easier to take the Huns from Gripping Beast and give them headswaps.

I bought a shedload of BTD Ancient Germans, and will try to make them look somewhere near what you are looking for. They are quite shaggyfied as they are.

I don't really know anything about uniformology, but in my own private Dark ages East Europe the cavalry has Steppe Nomads / Saracen bodies, Viking heads and fur cloacks.

That's a pretty good suggestion - Up until now I've been looking at historical proxies close enough to use with the minimum of converting. There seems to be a dearth of C13 pagans to draw from. It's a shame because if I was doing fantasy 15mm I'd be spoilt for choice of ranges to draw from. I'm relatively new at kit bashing plastics but after seeing the inspirational conversions of the likes of Messrs Blood & company with GoT/Westeros figures, I can certainly see the potential in a hybrid of Fireforge Mongol Cavalry x Gripping Beast Arab Cavalry x Gripping Beast Dark Age/Viking Warriors for example...
I've got a stack of boxes to work thru first but it is very tempting to experiment...

Fireforge had a funding campaign for 13th century Russian Armored Infantry that ended December 31st. Kit bashing those bits with gripping beast arab cavalry sets will create decent Baltic pagan cavalry, adding in gripping beast hirdmen heads and their generic dark age warrior sets should do the job.  As for infantry, and shown in the pics above, the Gripping Beast Jomsvikings and Pagan Rus are the closest miniatures for Baltic Pagans.  Keep in mind that Baltic cavalry used javelins/spears until adopting horse archery tactics/bows in the late 14th century. But since you're using the minis for a fantasy setting that might not matter.

I was kinda hoping Fireforge might move into this area given their pechant for things Teutonic. Certainly Pruzz/Lithuanian light cavalry would have many uses outside the strictly historical...
