I tired this today to break a painting rut I've been in for a week. I see about a million flaws, but I broke my rut. Next one better - this one might get repainted or just left.

I wanted a worn battlesuit look; the Ghar are supposed to be a bit rougher but everything has been clean so far. I went a bit grittier. It's about 95% airbrushed, some spot washed, and the base is dry powders wetter then over brushed with metallics.

It's a start.  ;)

That IS nice - I like the the shades used and what seems to be very effective technique. Although I've seen a couple of very nice paint jobs I agree the more used look fits the Ghar.

 :o

I really like that. Really subtle painting. The colours are lovely, in a sort of worn out, knackered kind of way.

Maybe a bit more battle damage? I don't know if that will spoil the effect though?..

Thanks guys!  :D

Yeah, some sort of battle damage or weathering, "carbon scoring" is due yet. Also the base needs something to bring it up, more space-ship like.

My gaming table for Antares is going to be a Concord freighter/light ship that the Ghar are boarding. That's the idea.

More later!

That is lovely. The blues and pinks add a sort of pearl like sheen.

Thanks guys!

I'm going to paint a squad of the Concord next.Bright orange like the crew in Space: 2001 ...

The more I look at it in person, the more I can live with it - except for the pinky lenses, they need to be totally resprayed. Messy!

Cheers

I wasn't very happy with him so I reprime him and put him away for now.  ;)

I like the subtle paint work as well.  The cool things about miniatures is that everyone interprets their miniatures differently.
