X-wing asteroid base WIP
« on: 20 January 2016, 03:25:28 PM »
Having recently acquired X-wing I figured I'd really like to make something as a break in between Old West stuff.

It's probably fairly obvious what this will end up as!

I'm going to try (I know, there is no try!) and make an asteroid base as scenery and as a mission objective.

A one balled egg box with a cocaine habit? Sure I saw one in Jabba's palace.

I figure it should be a relatively quick build (for me at least). I can use it as a fighter station,  a research station, a prison,  etc.

Not a great photo but it gives you a little bit of an idea of what is intended.

Yes it is. Apart from the blue foam it's all scrap and off cuts.

The top section could be a command / traffic control area, the large dome might be a shield generator, the circular LZ is for fighters and the larger one for shuttles,  etc.

Not sure what to do about armaments yet. I'm not buying anything for this,  it all has to be stuff I have that I'm not using for anything else.

That way distraction lies.....

Concentrate you must!

Learning to play the game first you should. Having a couple of dogfights you may. "Prepainted" miniatures shall allow you to do so without scratchbuilding spoil heaps...
