This project is still not completely dead. I finally recieved my order from Redoubt. I ordered some Myrmidons and two chariots. And i think it is safe to say that from now on in if I need any more reinforcements they will be from Foundry. The Redoubt minis are terrible they had the worst moldlines/mold slipping I have seen in a long time. All running down faces and other fidly details.

I was very tempted to return them. But given the lack of communication from Redoubt I thought it would not be worth the hassle so I did what I could to try and save what I could. I am not sure if I have it in me to try and salvage the chariots though...

This is what I ended up with.

Sadly true. The Myrmidons are particularly bad, had lots of miscasts (and obviously no quality control) in my last and ultimate order – first time I actually binned metal figures. Never again.

All the more, you did an admirable job on these. :)

Some of the Redoubt are wonderful minis, great active sculpts, and fairly clean castings. Others are absolute turds, the Myrmidons esp. with their sex-doll faces and weird poses. I'm still pleased with some of mine, but Foundry are far better.

Nice work, good to see the project still going!

It’s kind of like drinking. Once you go all in, afterwards you swear it’s the last time, but after a vile you forget and you get tempted again :P. I had my first bad experience with their scots highlanders for ECW but was pleased with their Dendra armored warriors (ever though they were single posed).

What are your plans for these guys in terms of our Trojan quest?

It was your Dendra armored guys that convinced me to give it a go with the Myrmidons. So in fact it is your fault!

I am thinking to use them as fierce infantry.

"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

They look like they'd be a fun painting project at the least. :P

I can answer the second question as there are more than just these pictured, the idea being to make a raiding party similar to Eureka's Beowulf set. But I am not sure when these will be available from the website as Eureka was having some computer problems courtesy of Microsoft. However I reckon if you emailed Nic in a week or two's time you might be able to get a better idea. ;)
